Both of my DD's were ******l. I pushed just 5 times with my first, and 3 with my second. I knew I had to have at least one talent. :rotfl2:

Va-j-j with no drugs. I was young and naive and made everyone from my family to my doc and the nurses promise to not let me have anything. I wanted to go natural. Boy, was I dumb. Oh, and the doc never made it to the delivery. Long story, but the nursing staff didn't contact him till the very last minute. Poor doc. I could hear him running down the hall to my room "after" I already delivered the sweetpea.

Just had to say, thanks for reminding me about Bailey's great line re: Va-J-J. I laugh every time I think about it! :rotfl2:

I had DS vag. Went in on Monday afternoon for my regular doctors appt. and my OB/GYN decided to do an ultrasound and she said she was not seeing the fluid pockets that she should be seeing and was afraid that I was leeking fluid although I was not aware of it. They immediatley admitted me and started inducing at 6 pm till midnight but nothing so they shut it off and wanted me to sleep till 6 am but I couldn't sleep so they gave me morphine to help me sleep (they said it leaves the system quickly). They started inducing at 6 am and around 10 pm I was in so much pain and I heard the word stoic for the 1st time ever and they talked me into the epidural. Boy do I wish I had gotten that thing hours earlier. It made all the difference in the world. Ds was born just after 12:30 am. This is one event in my life that I remember very vividly.

DS was a c-section.

My water broke at 5am on a Thursday. I never went into labor, so I got the wonderful pitocin around dinner time. I pushed for over 3 hours in the middle of the night/early morning Friday - episiotomy, vaccuum extraction, the whole nine yards! After all this and DS still would not/could not come out - the doctor said that she couldn't "torture (me) anymore!" So, then I went for my emergency section.

Turns out, I only have 1/2 a uterus. I would not be allowed to try VBAC if we have another baby (not that I would want to!).

Honestly, I was scared to death of having DS and hoped for a section. I think maybe I jinxed myself! My c-section recovery was easier than the gall bladder surgery recovery I had 5 weeks later! :sad1:

I voted for Va-J-J for both of my girls :thumbsup2

3 C-sections.... I tried V the first time, just wasn't meant to be

I pushed a watermelon through a keyhole twice ;)

Au naturale with both girls, 8.5 with the first and a whopping 10 lbs 4 oz with the second. I'm done!

Emergency c-section for my first and planned c-section ofr my second.

With DS I had pre-eclampsia and I was put in the hospital at 36 weeks on bedrest. They wanted to get me to 37 weeks and then induce me but my water broke before then. My water broke around 10:30 pm. My DH had left the hospital that night around 9:00 and had just crawled into bed when I called to tell him to get right back to the hospital! :) I labored through the night and by 8 the next morning I was still at 0 - no dilation and no effacement. They started the pitocin then and I begged for an epidural about noon when they told me I was still not even quite 1 cm. :( I labored until around 5 that evening and my OB checked and I was still not even 2 cm. They decided that I needed to have a c-section so they started prepping me. There was already a section taking place in the OR down the hall so they were going to have me wait about another 30 minutes or so and then my heartrate and DS's started to plummet and all of the sudden things moved fast. They got me into a regular OR and had DS out quickly. He was 5 lbs. 6 ozs. but thankfully in very good health.

I recovered from that c-section well but I couldn't help feeling like I had missed out so I really considered a VBAC for DD. My OB was not real sure about the idea and she did tell me that she would refuse to induce me or let me go past my due date so if I wanted to attempt a VBAC I had to go into labor on my own by that date. I ended up having serious contractions about 3 weeks prior to my due date but they never caused any dilation or effacement. I just got all the pain but none of the benefits. Finally we just went ahead and scheduled a c-section for 5 days before my due date. They hooked me up to the monitors and I was still having contractions but I was at 0 dilation and effacement. Apparently my body does not do birth well - just contractions! DD was 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and I had a much harder recovery which suprised me. Everyone usually told me how much easier the second section is but I found it harder.

C-section with both. First child - head was too big and was stressed because he couldn't make it down :) Still has a head in 95th percentile - oh my! Second time had the spinal, much better than the souped up epideral.

I wonder how many 1st time c-section moms elect for c-section the second time around too?

I begged for an elective c-section after my first one and my HMO would not allow it. I did have a second seciton without a trial of labor when I went a week overdue., but had I not lodged many a complaint with their business office, I doubt they would have just done the section without tyring to induce me for 4 or 5 days like they did with the first one.

C-Section, after 13 hours of labor and being fully dialated and no progress...my son was 9lbs 2oz. and was just too large for me to deliver. Would have had a vbac the 2nd time, daughter was only 7lbs 13 oz but she was breech, so she was a planned c-section. Glad they were both healthy

My first daughter was C-section after 4 hours of pushing and her not budging! She was face up and my blood pressure sky-rocketed 200/110. My 2nd daughter was born at 32 weeks VBAC. She weighed 3.4 lbs. No long lasting problems, straight A student, starting pitcher for her softball team, now 15! My 3rd daughter was VBAC and a whopping 9 lbs 8 oz. Nice big healthy baby! My last and FINAL daughter was a c-section. Face down and wouldn't budge. She was born on Father's Day! I agree that the 2nd c-section was MUCH eaisier to recover from. I think it was because of all the modern pain relievers, there was no morphine drip when I had my first one 17 years ago. Gotta LOVE modern med!
