And of course... our yellow lab "Disney". Very sadly, we had to put her down last week because of seizures due to a brain tumor. She was the "bestest" goofy dog we could have ever asked for.
OT - Philip, I was following your thread & I'm very sorry for your loss.
Our 1st dog was named Velvet. My aunt's dog had puppies & my cousins named her. She looked like a miniature black lab - her name was very appropriate.
Our 2nd was a wonderful (& much missed) Sheltie mix named Muffin. She was 6 months old when we got her from an older woman who had just moved into an apartment & couldn't keep her. She was originally named Mittens but Muffin fit her well since she was so sweet.
Our current love is a Sheltie named Muffin's Maggie May. Maggie May from one of my favorite songs & Muffin to honor my sweet girl's memory.

Even funnier was we later one had another dog, we named Sadie(after a character in a Disney movie) Turns out our neighbor Josie's mothers name was you guessed it Sadie!!
, and did not like any name I picked for Blythe, so we just kept their given names.
He knew my mom would take her, so he scooped her up and we then had Coca.
I wanted George.

after my grandma. She always hated her name (Ethel) and threatened to come back and haunt anyone who named a child after her. When my brother was little, he couldn't say "Ethel" and said "Apple" instead. We got Apple shortly after my grandma died and I figured if I named a cat "Apple" and not a child "Ethel", I'd be free from haunting. Apple will be 5 this summer and thus far, no ghost sightings of Grandma Ethel!
