I truly just realized today that Disney will not have the gingerbread house ever again at the Grand. I thought it would be back in the following year. We'll of course the guest rather have a bar verses a holiday treasure.

Never again is an assumption on your part. Disney announced there will be no gingerbread house this year. They have not announced what will happen in the future. It has been pointed out several times in the GF thread that the new bar is not taking any more space than the original birdcage did. So if there was room for it before, there very well could be room in the future.

I mean… if a random YouTuber said it, it must be true!! Is this someone well known or some rando? This the first time I’m hearing this, and I research GF stuff every day.

I posted this picture from the GF lobby with the tree & GBH over in the GF thread… I do not see how it wouldn’t work going forward, as there’s plenty of room on each side (and assuming the footprint of the bar is the same size - or close), but that’s just my opinion…




Disney has taken things away from us before, so I’d never say never, but at this time, that has not been announced by Disney, nor have I heard any rumors.

Remove the Grand Piano in your photo… push Tree back closer to the
Former GF Tea Party location and place the Gingerbread House with sales in this available location and control traffic flow with one Way entry and continue out to exit on other side of the GF House …next year ?

I think a display will return but not in that size as a huge sales shack. Each resort has its unique baking decoration for the holiday. (I enjoy our BCV ginger bread carousel). Once all the lobby is complete, next year will be more festive again for sure.

I agree with this. I can certainly see them putting up a gingerbread display at GF, but the foot traffic that the 'sales' size house creates, combined with the new lobby bar patrons, will make that lobby very congested.

I'd be surprised if Disney doesn't find a new location for the gingerbread house. Maybe in a store that sells sweets? They could make a lot of money selling gingerbread, gingerbread houses, assorted Christmas cookies and other Christmas goodies.

I sure that was just a persons opinion, Disney hasn’t announced that the Gingerbread house will be gone forever just for this season again.

I got the impression from Promise Hope’s vlog this week that the gingerbread house was gone for good too.

She didn’t say where she got that info.

I hope the lounge opens really soon- it looked basically ready in her vlog.

We’ll be there for our first Christmastime visit this year and are sad to miss the gingerbread house…. The new lounge being open would be a good consolation prize.

Just wanted to let you know the tree went up today… and it fit in its usual place! The gingerbread house looks like it still has plenty of room!

It fits, that's true...but I see a choke point now in the lobby, between the bar and the tree. The space may feel the same as before, but no one was lingering in that area before...sitting on a barstool enjoying a drink, or standing and waiting to order. Put that big gingerbread house in there and this lobby is going to be very crowded.

I'm glad we got to see the house and tree last year. I'll wait to see how the crowds and traffic is before opting to visit again at the holidays.
