I just printed up our boarding passes for tomorrow. I got A26, A27, and A28. I did my infant son's pass too, and he got A16, but obviously, he'll be going on with us.

So, how is 26-28? Should we have a decent choice of where we sit?

That's about as good as it gets :)

A 1-15 are usually held back for business select and the "A List" but folks have been reporting 2-5 passengers if any in 1-15 so you probably will be boarding just after the medical pre-boards.

The aircraft has 136 seats and at at most @ 35 people will board before you, more likely @ 10 or so.

Remember you still need to get the BVD for the lap baby before you go through security. You can do it when you check your bags and you will need a birth certificate.

Have fun

I thought a BVD was only required for lap babies and not ticketed infants? I am helping my boss with a trip and she will have a ticketed baby, so I want to be sure to give her the correct information! :) (It appears the OP has a ticketed infant, otherwise the baby would not have a boarding pass?)

I am leaving tomorrow too...my flight is 9:40 out of Phila and I checked in at 9:40 this morning on the dot and I got A-23.

What is the bvd? I am flying SW next week with a lap child. Help what do I need to do?

Those are good numbers. You shouldn't have a problem getting seats together. I checked in today right on time and got A18 (for me) and A20 (for my bf).

Not good. Not good at all. You may have to sit in the bathroom. Or on the wing, even. Or stand, like on the Disney buses.

BVD= Boarding Verification Document

This allows your unticketed infant to travel with you on Southwest. You have to go to the ticket counter at the airport (not the gate, the counter where you check luggage) and show them proof that your child is under the age of 2 and therefore qualifies as a lap child.

Ok, so since he is only 9 mos and very obviously under 2 will I still need to take his BC? Thanks for the info, I've never flown with a lap child before. Glad I found this thread!

When I flew with my obviously under 2 child, no one told me I needed anything. I got to my destination without a single question, but when I tried to fly home, they threatened me with $10,000 fines and everything else because I didn't have proof that he was under 2. They finally let me board, but I had to sign some documents and get a long lecture and they felt like scaring me for a while with threats of not letting me get on the plane. Make it easy on yourself and bring a birth certificate.

The OP has twins, one is ticketed and one is a lap baby. The lap baby will need a birth certificate to verify he/she is eligible to fly for free. The lap baby will also need a document to get through security, this is a Boarding Verification Document. It can be only be obtained at the airport with a birth certificat. SWA happens to be the most strict airline in requiring a BC for a lap baby but all airlines can and will ask for proof of age for a non-ticketed passenger.

If you are purchasing a ticket then you don't need a birth certificate because you don't need to prove they are eligible to fly for free.
