I have heard repeatly that the room and the decor is dark, but just how dark is it?

We stayed in a 2-br unit at BWV 2 weeks ago, I thought the lighting was very dim, especially in the studio bathroom, you could barely see. We spent 2 nights after BWV at DD Hilton, the lighting was much much better.

I am not sure if this is a Disney thing. However, before that trip, we stayed at Comtemporary, BC, YC and I did not remember the lighting was ever dim, or is this just in DVC resorts in general?

Is WL/WLV even darker than BWV? Thanks

I haven't stayed at the BWV yet, but will in Oct. We have stayed at WLV and OKW, and IMO the WLV may be a little darker, due to the darker colors, dark green-brown, in the theming of their room. We would open the shades to the balcony anyway to look at the trees. Which a couple of mornings we saw several deer. As far as being "dark". No, I don't think so.

The VWL rooms are lighter than the ones in the main lodge in my opinion. The lighting was pretty good in the studio we stayed in. We always opened our curtains during the daytime and had plenty of light. We're staying in a one bedroom in May, so I'm going to check out the lighting in the bigger units.

We also just stayed at Boardwalk Villas a few weeks ago and you're right, the light was dim. Especially in the studio bathroom (probably doesn't help that the bathroom is painted a darker blue and you've only got that one small dim light in the ceiling.) I do know the bathrooms are a lot lighter at the VWL studios (walls are lighter so I'm sure that helps compared to Boardwalk.)

My impressing is that they are referring to dark colors and dark woodwork when talking about WLV being dark, not poor lighting. I could be wrong.

Well you can cehck out some pictures on VWL 4535

HERE

That is a one bedroom picture tour I posted recently.

but this picture is the best one that shows the colors of the walls. They do use dark carpet, wood furniture.

Wow, Tagrel, great pictures!! We own at VWL and are trying BCV for the first time in May! Thanks for posting, can't wait to go!

WOW - Tagrel & Mike, those are awesome pics! Our (1st) home in CT is decorated in the dark greens & reds with lots of oak furniture & accents and I just fell in love with the decor of WLV!

This may just call for a WLV visit before those AP's expire in Nov!!!

Now, do you happen to have any studio pics?

Thanks!
