Ok, we are leaving after school on Friday, and we are all getting really excited!! I happened upon the site with historical crowd levels though, and every day from Sunday on is listed as a 9 out of 10 in terms of crowds! Now I am a little nervous. I figured Thanksgiving weekend would be packed, but I thought we would be ok before hand. It has been a long time since I have been at WDW when it is crowded, and never with young kids.

Anyone been there for Thanksgiving week last year?

Hi,

It will be very crowded until Wednesday, and then it will be VERY CROWDED!

We've been there twice during T-week and going this year again. I would say the Saturday through Tuesday the crowd levels will be 9-10 , with Wednesday - Sunday being a 15 :rotfl2:

Take advantage of early mornings, avoid parks with extra magic hours, and use fastpasses. Also, I would recommend using a touring plan, like the ones from the Unofficial Guide.

:thumbsup2

Thankgiving is fast becoming more popular than July 4 - the weather is that much better.

not more popular by any means than Christmas to NY - or Easter or Palm weeks.

You also have to remember that a number of surrounding (and not so surrounding) school districts have the ENTIRE week off of school, not just Wed, Thurs, & Fri as in previous years.

We just decided yesterday to head over next Sat - Wed. and were able to book a room at Port Orleans. It will be crowded but it deoends on what you are used to. Living so close we usually go when it is dead quiet, so for us it will be very crowded. But worth it :)

I am sure we will have a great time no matter what. We are leaving on Friday, and may not go into the parks on Thursday as we are doing the breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, and going to Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's SSR 2 br. We will definitely make use of fast pass, but since I have never been a park commando, I probably won't make use of the touring guides.

Thanks for the replies!

Don't worry - but get as much park time in as you can from Sat-Tues then just get fastpasses and catch the shows when the parks are super crowded. Sound like a good idea for Thursday and do enjoy the 2 bedroom at SSR, while I have not stayed - I have seen them and they are spectacular. I know it will be tough but try to take in all the special events of the season. Have a great vacation!:santa:
