How Crowded is the week After Gay Days?

Gosh this thread is scaring the crap out of me. My family and I (about 10 ppl)
are going to be at DLR from the 10th-12th, which is Friday-Sunday. So we're
pretty much screwed then for crowds right ? Oh goodness.. I'm definitely
reading up on FPs and how to make the most out of my time. sigh.

wel if your familys in to charcters make sure to have a charcter meal dinner goffys or brekfest minnies

id say send some one whos fast but also can be carful and respectm full to gather all the fast passes you can when you first enter the park. then when CA oopens go over and do it there but you all can stay in DL just have the fast pass guy go to dca

Rainforest_Elf - when I was a child in the olden days. The crop harvesting was ALL important!! Parents took all the children out of school to help with the harvest. Exploiting FREE Child Labor! JR High Children drove huge slow farm trucks while Parents droves the nasty child eating harvester - ing machines. It was imperative the wheat, oats, hops, sugar beets, alfalfa, and potatoes were out of the ground and safely stored or the farmer didn't make money and the family starved along with anyone who was depend on the crops.

Today there are less farms. More new machines that need less people to do the same old jobs. And more laws against child free family laborers. More laws about kids being in school.

So, now Fall School Holidays are a ingrained right, or some School Districts co-oped those days as a way for teacher to get there manditory training.

As there are way less farmers Fall Days holiday has become city folks vacation times with out pulling the kids out of school to go on vacation.

Do you understand now? I am still wondering why it never caught on in Oregon? To citified??

I'm feeling pretty lucky right about now....I'm from the East Bay and our district is out the last few days of September for Fall Break, through the second week of October. Although it looks like we won't have late DL hours (September 27th - October 1st), we'll at least be safe with crowds. Excellent! :thumbsup2

From another site:
The Fourth of July weekend brought smaller-than-usual crowds to the Disneyland Resort. Cast members don't know whether to attribute the slack attendance to economic concerns, hot weather, or a perception that the park would be too crowded to visit, but attendance numbers were low even for a non-holiday summer weekend. Visitors at Disney's California Adventure said the park was relatively uncrowded, with waits for the popular new Toy Story Midway Mania attraction under 45 minutes for most of the day.

If this is any indication, last year October can't be compared to this year...the DLR just isn't pulling the numbers it did last year or in years past.

I don't mean to sound negative towards Disney making their numbers, but I
hope it isn't crowded :confused3 . It would be nice to have a not so hectic
time at DLR, although, I still love seeing crowds of people there !

I just checked and Utah schools will be out (Thurs and Fri) Oct. 16, 17 and Mon. Oct. 20. Prepare for the onslaught!! We will never go during fall break again! It was so crowded when we went 2 years ago. Everyone and their best friend comes from Utah for the break.

wow with my change it may be good i wont be there the 11th any more. maybe ill beat some this

when exactly are "gay days''?? we'll be going oct 2nd-6th....does anyone think it will be pretty bad around that time?

Official Gay Days are the 3rd, 4th and 5th. I've read numbers of extra people in the park around 35,000, but can't confirm that is what will happen...

oh my goodness....thats basically our whole trip! :rotfl2: lol i wonder if i should make it more towards mid-october...thanks for the info though, i really appreciate it!

That weekend is Columbus Day weekend.

Or what people are REALLY celebrating...my birthday. But the calendars do insist on writing Columbus instead of Molly...silly calendars.

I'll be there October 8th-12th--and my birthday's on the 12th. I always forget I was born on Columbus Day weekend and try to go to the bank only to find they're closed that day. I dunno about DL, but last year at WDW the parks were dead during my birthday. Hope it's the same out west this year.

I have a child in the Chandler, Arizona school district and he will be on fall break October 1st - 14th. Chandler is one of the few school districts in central Arizona that has this long of a fall break. The neighboring school district is scheduled to have their week long break October 13th - 17th.

You may, however, get lucky in that not as many Arizonans will make the drive from PHX to S. CA due to the gas prices. A lot of Arizonans will head to San Diego during the summer when we have this heat but a lot of people aren't going this year. The airlines aren't making it easier to fly any more, either.

We are going to Disneyland October 5th - 8th. Can't wait!!!

Schools in and around Phx seem to be all over the place with their breaks this year:

Sept 29-Oct 10: Creighton

Oct 1-10: Queen Creek

Oct 1-14: Chandler

Oct 6-10: Kyrene, Scottsdale, Phx Elem, Roosevelt, Tempe Elem.

Oct 9-10: Mesa, PV

Oct 13-17: Washington, Gilbert, Glendale

Oct 30-31: Madison

This is mostly just one part of our country, so I don't think that it will be that
bad just based on the info from them. Or atleast I'm hoping :confused3
Especially since its going to be so expensive to go on vacations.

:lmao: You've obviously never been there during an AZ Fall Break. :lmao:

You may be surprised how many Arizonans travel to and from CA on a very regular basis. I know of many people here in PHX who have AP's to DL and go very regularly. We're no further from DL than those living in N CA and in some cases, we're closer. And not to mention the relief from the heat we get when we go to CA! Come October, we're still dealing with high temps and a reprieve from that in CA is usually welcomed!!

No kidding!! I keep saying, NEVER AGAIN!! LOL :rotfl2: Unless gas prices keep people away, that whole month is gonna be jammed like it was last year.

I'd just plan for it, be there early, and use those FP!
