How crowded is MVMCP?

I know very little about MVMCP and will have to do some research. How crowded does it get? Are all attractions open late for it? Do you recommend getting tickets?

You have to get tickets if you want to attend.

It can get busy on Fridays and closer to Xmas.

We love MK at night. We went in 2002 and we are going again this year in 2004.

When I went this last year it seemed that it was just as busy as a park day, we went on a Tuesday and it was early in December. Although most of the rides were walk on for the most part. We had to wait for our pictures, the cookies and hot cocoa and the haunted mansion. The rest was fine. Maybe it just seemed more crowded because everyone was on main street.

I plan on going again this year and had a great time. I don't think you would be disappointed

We went on a Sunday last year, and it was GREAT!! It was our first day in the World, and I can't think of a better way to start a vacation!

We went in at 4:30-5:00pm, headed straight for Space Mountain, rode it and Buzz Lightyear, before getting in line for the free photos.

After the 6:00 closing/reopening timeframe (when you enter you get a bracelet to show you are a MVMCP person, or if you are already in the park you have to go get the bracelet), we rode rides and watched shows. I thought the crowds were practically nonexistent! My boys rode Aladdin twice in a row - no line at all! We rode every ride we wanted to ride (which for us is every ride in the park!) except, Jungle Cruise (don't even remember if it was open, we just figured it wouldn't be worth it in the dark), Splash Mountain - it was closed for some reason. This was in addition to "visiting" with characters, watching shows like Goofy's and watching both WISHES and the Christmas parade.

I cannot wait to go back this year, and I'm hoping to do the same timeframe - starting our trip with a PARTY!!

Wannabee Princess,
Did you get your photo before the 7:00 opening time? Where do they set up to take the photo? Where do they set up for the cookies and hot chocolate?

Any help from anyone on these questions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I went last Dec. 5th, and we had a pretty good time. I believe that last year I was told by a CM that there were only 20,000 tickets sold for each night. Even if it's sold out, that is not very crowded. MK can swallow up 20,000 people pretty easy. The only attractions I remember not being open were The Tiki Birds, Hall of Presidents and the WDW Railroad. But I may be mistaken. The bad points, IMHO, were the lines for getting your family photo and for the cookies and cocoa. They were too long and we skipped those activities. We walked on every ride.

You should purchase your tickets early if you want to go, you can save some money. I think they are higher at the gate, if there are any left at all by then.

Overall, it was fun and really put you in the holiday spirit. They have lots of holiday shows, a Christmas parade (they ran it twice a night). Storytelling for the little ones. They supposedly have Christmas carols too, but I never seen any of that. I would recommend The Country Bear Jamboree. It's always a holiday favorite for me and mine.

Most people seem to think the Jungle Cruise is better in the dark. Check it out if you get a chance.

If you go I hope you have a great time.

They set up to take photos at the entrance off the main hub to Adventurland, Liberty Square and Tomorrowland. Also in front on It's A Small World.

The cookies and cocoa were being offered in Adventureland (near the photo place). Liberty Square (also near the photo place).
And the end of Mainstreet.

And of course Santa was at City Hall!

P.S. My memory isn't this good, I saved last years guide.:smooth:

Tiziminchac - would you please check last year's guide and tell me if any of the shows are only performed once, or all they all performed throughout the evening? I'm wondering if we have to get to the early showing of Mickey's Night Before Xmas in Tomorrowland, or can we catch it later in the evening? Is there any way to scan or post the show/event times from last year?- or does anyone have a link to them?- Getting ready !!
Thanks!:smooth:

It is SO worth going to!!!!! We went last year on Dec 7th and 9th (Sunday and Tues) The crowds were very low.::yes::

If I'm not mistaken though, as December got closer and closer, the Friday nights started selling out.

For all 3 parties I went to they would not start taking photos until 7:00p

Where do you pick up your bracelets if you are spending the day in the park. Hopefully, we will have an 8:10 a.m. ps for Cindys and will be there all day.

wow, that's a long day!

There will be CM all over the park handing them out and also you can exchange your tickets for wristbands at City Hall.

I do remember CM standing in front of the Castle too.
