Contemplating on going on Tuesday night 10/20 (was still available last I checked). We have never gone and are traveling without kids. I would think it is mostly kid focused but thought it might be worth doing just to see it.

Thoughts?

lots of people go without kids crowds are light for rides but busier for party stuff. i think its definitly worth it!!!

Totally worth it. DW and I used to go before we had DD(8) the lines for attractions are non existent I think one year we went on Space Mountain 3 time in a row.

We are not huge into characters and love MNSSHP! The parade, castle show and fireworks are all top notch and very special to this event. The lines for the rides are short and we get a lot of rides done.

The people watching is great, love to see everyone in costume! Trick or treating is fun and we got lots of candy.

Worth it for sure!

I've gone twice (mid September 2011, early October 2007). The parks are crowded and the lines for meet and greets are long. BUT I walked on most rides or, at worst, waited 10 minutes or less for everything. I did Space Mountain 7 times in a row! Splash Mountain 5 times in a row!! The first parade is jammed but the 10:30 parade, not so much.

So, if you're going for rides it's EXCELLENT! If you're going for meet and greets, not so much. If for the parades, wait for the second one when the little kiddies (and young at heart) are either heading for home or still waiting to meet their favorite characters.

There's a MNSSHP thread on here somewhere. Some people report the party being very crowded, I'm going to guess that Disney lets in a lot more people than they used to. I think how crowded it is depends a lot on when you go. Also sounds like there can be huge lines to meet characters. We went once in September a few years ago, a Sunday night, not crowded at all. No kids, but we did lots of trick-or-treating, rode everything we wanted to, and the parade was very cool.

No more kid focus'd than any other time there. As adults, we love it. kids are busy with candy so rides are fairly wide opened to enjoy, you can get bags of candy also if you want, it's not out of place to relive your childhood and have a "I used to trick or treat at disneyworld" story for your grandkids one day.. The villians in the parade are nice, the halloween color lighting, zombie dapper dans, halloween/villian colored and themed fireworks (that are bigger than a normal night).

Weekends when fla locals don't have school the next day are more crowded. Tuesdays were always nice.. I generally recommend go early in your trip because if mother nature jumps in with rain or anything and you decide it's not worth trying to stay, you can complain and they will generally give you a ticket for the next one, the catch22 is you have to be there for it.

Edit for crowd: It's limited ticket sales and does sell out so it will not be as crowded as during the day. I've been a few times and some days seems much more crowded than others so I think there's some wiggle room on what sold out really means, especially if they are giving out more tickets for bad weather or similar on another sold out day. We find 90% of the rides to be walk on but the normal populars to be long waits. There is no fast pass and kids with parents tend to leave earlier leaving a couple hours of hard core and ride goers left around to enjoy.

I go to the first party every year and it's never packed! Mostly because it's a school night. If you go on a Friday night esp closer it gets to halloween - it may be packed but a lot of the rides are still walk on and 15-20 min max wait times. Candy lines are more packed hahaha

We went to a sold out party last year. I will say it was crowded for party stuff, we waited a hour to see 7 dwarfs. But rides were not bad.
