How crowded is it at US/IAO in JULY???

I am trying to decide which pass to buy. We are going to WDW next week but plan on going to US/IOA two days.....so I could get the special that is good for 7 days in case my dh and older son decide to hit US/IOA one more day next week. NOW we are also going to WDW this summer in mid July and if we spend 45 more per person we could upgrade to the Power Pass season pass. I know when we go in the summer to WDW we usually head back to the resort to swim/chill out during the heat of the day....well if we do a universal day.....we are pretty much stuck there. SO....would it be miserable in July and crowded and not worth me getting those AP's I am not sure if we will go again after July. Our only other time might be next Jan. Please advise. Thanks

Let me put it this way...As a local, I don't go to the parks in the summer because of the crowds and the humidity. I make rare appearances at the parks when I'm meeting people but otherwise...I stay home.

Yeah see this worries me. When staying at WDW it is so easy to leave the park go back to our DVC resort and rest/swim and then go back later on. I am really wondering if we will do this. I guess I could get the 94 special now...see how we like it and then maybe upgrade before we leave if we decide it is something worth trying. If I knew for sure we would go again say next Jan. then it would be worth it to get now.

Like Metro said it will be packed cause we were there this past july and the only good thing we stayed onsite at RPR and the fotl made it more easy on us and not to mention relaxing to be able to go back and rest and hit the parks later on when the crowds died down a little bit
