How crowded for December 6 - 12?

Hi! I'm new here. Anyway, my husband and I are going to DLR in December! I've never been in December....
Any suggestions?? What should we expect in weather? Crowds??
Please help!
Thanks!

IIRC you'll be there when mousefest is happening also. A gathering of lots of fan sites get together.. I think they will be in the world from the 2nd to the 10th or something like that? That shouldnt make that big of a difference, but will put some extra 'disney geeks' in the parks :)

We are going Dec 14 - 20. Does anyone know when it starts getting really crowded by the Christmas break crowds? I am hoping that it will still be somewhat uncrowded during these dates! - Have never been in December before... looking forward to it!:santa:

Evi, As a Pop Warner cheer coach, we are being offered POR, PORFQ and All Stars this year. That's straight from the Pop Warner site. Sorry :cheer2:

I have just joined this board, but I have been lurking for a few weeks. We are going Dec. 7th - 12th. It will be the 1st time in 20 years that my husband and I are going alone. We are looking forward to doing whatever we want, when we want. It will be great to have some time for ourselves.

We were there from 7th to 27th Dec last year and I dodn't think it was crowded until 22nd Dec in the afternoon when we were at MGM. Even then it was managable. The first 2 weeks were great crowds wise. Only things that had 20 min waits were the big rides and even there there were fast passes available to come back in less than an hour. I would still recommend getting there early though especially if you have specific rides you want to fo. i.e we found that we could ride Buzz Lightyear 5 times without a wait.

Yep, those fun-loving MouseFesters will be there from Dec 6 (when they return from their 4 night cruise) until the 11th or so. I think most of the MF stuff is done by Sunday night. Although it's a large group, it isn't large enough to overly impact the parks.
It's also a time of year that a lot of DVC people are down there. Great value for them at the DVC resorts and great decorations in the parks...a win/win for them.

You're going to Disneyland/CA this December? Cool!

Quite literally! Temperatures will be variable--can be quite warm to downright cold! Weather typically 60s to low 70s during the day--though it can be warmer or colder--and 40s at night--which can dip down to freezing occasionally! So prepare to wear layers!

Can't help you with the crowds. Haven't been there in December for about 30 years!

You'll probably get better responses on the DLR/CA forums.

Those first 2 weeks of Dec. are my favorite weeks, no crowds :cloud9: The only unknown is the weather. It doesn't matter if you don't want to go to the water parks or ride the river rafts. I am worried that more baby boomers will start taking those weeks after they retire!

To be honest it will be fun but I guess Im an east coast girl so I love Disney World. I think since parks are only 2 in cali they get very packed. But if you go early in day and get fast passes you should be fine. Its funny in Cali it gets super packed but I feel like lines go faster but maybe thats just me. I think thats what I dont like about the parks in california I feel like they are always crowded when I go. Oh well Im sure you'll love it either way.

You might want to check out the Disneyland forum. There is a lot of information there. http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=26

We usually go to DL in early December, we love it! The weather is nice, the evenings can get a little cold though, so definitely bring a jacket. The weekday mornings at DL are very quiet and nice, but does get more crowded as the day progresses. The weekends at DL are very busy, whether it's off season or not. Last year, on the second Saturday of December they actually closed entry to Disneyland for a few hours in the afternoon because it had hit capacity :scared1: .
On the first or second Monday in early December both parks close early, I think it was 6:00pm for a cast member party. Last year we arrived right as the parks were closing, it was a zoo! We could not get anything to eat, not even a CS meal. Make sure you have an ADR for dinner if you plan on being there that day.

Have a wonderful time!
