How could this happen to ME?

So, I got in a car accident last night. I was on my way to my friends house, when I hit a patch of ice and slid. Now, I've slid before, so I wasn't worried. I was just trying to gain control, but something happened and I just kept going faster and faster and my car was spinning left, right, left, right. and I slid down the road and Hit a tree.

I really am suprised about just how much stuff goes through your brain! The list of what I was thinking seconds BEFORE I hit the tree will go on and on and on. but after I got out, I was just like "How could this happen......How could this happen TO ME?" im SUCH a good driver. and it was just scary I was just afraid I would never see anyone again..

so, lol I'm happy I get to see (or .. hear? lol) you guys again! PLEASE drive safetly, and drive super slow in ice/snow. And I'm glad I made it out with just a head ache and a SUPER sore side. (I can't lift my arm without it hurting ) but I think I just saw my dreams shatter along with that window, It doesn't look good for going to Florida in the summer I won't have a car.

That looks scary.
I'm already afraid of driving as it is, mostly because of stuff like this and getting into accidents.
Just goes to show accidents can happen to anybody.

Oh honey that must have been horrific. I am so glad you are alright. I cringe everytime I am out on the roads driving with my parents or boyfriend and I see an accident like that.

There was no one in the passenger side of your car was it?

Hey, all I can say is dont worry. It happens to the best of us. It happened to me a little over a year ago. I T-boned a green explorer in my dad's 2007 Eclipse and ripped the front end to shreds. No one got hurt (Thank god) but I was more then a little distraught. But eventually everything was ok (Eventhough I was down about 500 bucks, for the deductable) and now I drive like a maniac again... Essentially what im trying to say is that everything is cool, just keep your chin up and remember that we are all here to support ya.

NO! Thank GOD! I have a feeling they would have been Dead. I even called my two best friends before I left making sure they didn't need a ride from me.

I dont ever want a passenger in my car again. well, i'm scared. Driver naturally protects his/her side I guess

Steph, no one ever thinks it's going to happen to them. I've realized that good and well. You know it can happen, you just don't think it would. Based from my knowledge, it's always the good kids who have something tragic happen to them.

Steph, from what you said it seemed like you did everything under your power to keep you as safe as possible. It really seems like you are a good driver, but the condition of the road was really sucky.

I hope you're feeling okay, I bet you must still be very shaken up!!
Thank God no one was in the passenger seat!!! And after reading that you called them to ask if they needed a ride, I think it was definitley a Divine intervention of some sort that they didn't!!!!

That looks so scary! I've had fender benders but thankfully nothing like that!! The most important thing of course is that you are ok and no one else was with you. And at least it was just your car and no one else's car was involved in the accident. If you had been at fault and hit someone else that would have been worse. You were very lucky. I like to think I'm a good driver too but I hate driving in inclement weather of any kind. It's very very scary to see what can happen. I'm sorry that happened to you

Aww Steph. I'm so sorry! But I'm glad you're ok. That must have been terrible.

My boyfriend and I were in an "accident" the other day. It wasn't bad but he was shaken up from it. We were in a parking lot and he was going, I kid you not, 3 MPH. We had to go around a corner that was covered with ice. And there was a car parked in a no parking zone. He was riding the brakes when he started to slide. He started to turn the car the other way but it didn't work and we slid into the other car. He was so mad. I think he wanted to cry. The only damamge was a dent on the car door and chipped paint. Then the people had their car looked at..it was almost $2000 to fix.

The sad thing is is he's a very cautious driver..especially when I'm with him. And he was scared after this. So I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been for you. =/

Thank You so much! I'm glad I'm okay too! I could have been in the hospital now, but I'm alright.

It's just like, this huge thing is a bummer. and before, my heart would always stop if I didn't break right away and I almost get in fender benders. but this time, I was just in shock! Its just a huge bummer.

Its great my parents weren't mad at all. and this morning before my car was towed. my mom was like "I saved your little Mickey Antenna Topper "
