We are staying at CSR Nov 30th -Dec 7th. Our daughters birthday is Dec 1st so the day after we arrive. Originally I had thought of buying a disney gift card and giving her carte blanche and letting her buy any princess dress she wanted for her birthday but she wants THIS one and its not sold in parks, its almost sold out etc so with the 25% off yesterday I went ahead and bit the bullet. (we're NOT doing BBB) First thing on the 1st we plan on doing CRT for bfast and hitting MK for the day and I KNOW she'll want to wear her dress that day KWIM?

HOW do I gift her with this/surprise her. I'd love to have it in a big white box with tissue paper/pixie dust and then the whole thing wrapped in a big pink bow KWIM? We're driving down though and I think room in the van will be a premium not to mention I don't want her to see the box. Can I have it shipped to the resort ahead of time? This is a limited edition dress and it stresses me out that someone at the hotel would lose it. Should flat pack everything (box/tissue paper/bow) and see if while we're some where the first night if we could get someone at the resort to do up the box and place it in our room? ANY ideas I would ever be so grateful.

I would flat pack it in the van and then make up the box at Disney after DD goes to sleep. I would put it together in the hall or at the car so she won't wake up then just leave it at the end of her bed so she see it as soon as she wakes up.

Maybe you can flat pack everything and sneak into the bathroom to wrap it. Then take a short walk around to "see the resort" and say you forgot something and run back to the room to place the package?:confused3

I would just wrap the box. If it is wrapped why does it matter if she sees it.

Mom what's that? It's your birthday present, I can't wait till you see it.

I would flat pack it and bring it with you. You can sneak in some time to get the box ready. You can have her do something with DH....check out the resort, buy a postcard at the resort store, etc. or when she goes to sleep you can put the box together and have it ready for her in the morning.

We are staying at CBR in a pirate room this June and I will be taking some pirate goodies along with a treasure chest for each of our boys. I will also be sending them on an "errand" with DH when we first arrive at the resort so I can put their pirate treasure chests and treats together.

We did this with the family I went down with last year.

They bought the dress and shoes on e-bay and had it sent to their home. I was going to treat the five year old to the BBB and she was going to wear her dress and shoes to dinner and the parks afterwards.

We packed the dress and shoes in my suitcase, with a flattened box, and ribbon. Since I was the only one without little ones, I had plenty of room.

When everyone went to the pool, her mom stayed behind with a sleeping infant, wrapped up the gift and then strolled out to the pool later on.

When we all arrived back at our rooms, there was a package that had been dropped off by "Minnie Mouse", which is what we told her. The look on her face was priceless.

Flat packing it along and wrapping it up yourself is a good idea if you want to make sure it's there that morning with no issues. Go to Panchito's (the store in the hotel) and ask very nicely if you can have a pink bow (or two!) and explain why. It shouldn't be an issue. You might be able to get some pixie dust off of them as well, if not try the front desk for some (bear in mind, if they say they don't have any, they really truly don't). It couldn't hurt to ask at the FD what they can do in terms of delivering it to the room themselves! The answer you get will depend on the CM you ask. Go for a bubbly CM and you'll probably have a bit more luck.

Be aware, however, that things happen and there's always the slight chance that the dress will be delayed being delivered to your room if you hand it off to a CM. BUT, it might make it more magical being delivered by someone on behalf of Cinderella and her friends! :goodvibes

first - that dress is gorgeous! What a lucky girl to get it for her birthday!

If I were you, I'd flat pack it, and bring it yourself. Once you're there, after DD has gone to bed, I would throw that and all the stuff to make the present into a suitcase and head down to the lobby or something for some "quiet time" and pack it up just like you wanted it. A good/sneaky place to do this might be the laudry room in your hotel. After it looks how you'd like it to, ask the front desk if they'll delvier it on the morning, or if your kid is asleep, you can even take it back to your room. When she's in the potty in the morning, sneak out "to get some coffee" and take it down to your lobby and drop it off at the front desk then and ask that they deliver it in 20 mins or so. You can even include a card from you and DH or even from Flynn Rider or Pascal. (wouldn't that be the cutest?!?!)

Worst case scenario, in my little made up way of doing it, if your DD sees it in the morning before it's delivered to your room, you can surprise her with it then.

Also, for cuteness factor, you can include a stuffed Pascal to the box - I just heart him!

Good luck!

oh I love the pascal idea! good one!

I think I've figured it all out! in our odyssey we hav ea special compartment that never gets used under the 2 front seats access in the middle. I think there will be PLENTY of room to hide the dress but not have it squished flat and then flat pack the box/tissue paper/sheer pink wire edged ribbon and I happen to find pixie dust at the dollar tree a while back  I really wanted it to be more 'magical' then just something we brought along (but not detrimental if it didn't work out LOL)

we'll have 2 rooms so wrapping it won't be an issue. The night we arrive I'll do what you all said have dh take the kids to walk around and see the resort and I'll set up the box and then have it ready to go for the big day!

PHEW!

Yay! Glad you figured out how to make it work! And the dress is absolutely gorgeous!

I love that dress and would love to get one for my DD. But she is twenty and she refuses to wear anything like that anymore!! I guess I'll have to wait for a grandaughter! princess:

Have a wonderful time with your daughter!
