How cool will it be in December?

Think we may be changing our Aug trip to the first week in Dec this year d/t DH's work schedule. What can I expect in the way of weather this time of year? Is it usually warm enough to swim? Are the evenings/nights very cool? I can just see me having to pack two wardrobes: one with shorts/tees and one with pants/sweatshirts!!

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Sammy

I have gone the past two years the last week in November, first week in December... once it was 80 degrees the whole time, absolutely beautiful and the other time I wore a sweatshirt and jeans... not freezing but cool....it is a coin toss... hope you win on your trip.. :)

Long term weather forecasts might help but their accuracy is always a concern. We have gone to WDW the first week of December for years now. We do pack a combo assortment because even with warm days nights will cool off quite a bit. We have recently had a run of very warm weather during that period, highs in 80's, low's around 55-60 at night. If you are coming from a very cold climate any temps above freezing might feel great even with light clothes. A minimum would be light clothes with a sweater/sweatshirt /jacket. Of course you could always buy some clothes while you are there!
I wish someone could predict what the weather would be 10 days in advance or so but so far tomorrow's forecast is 50/50 at best.

I have to agree that the forcasting the weather is not an exact science. I have been in Dec. when we needed winter coats (we are from Mi. so we are used to cold winters). That is not normal though. We still had a wonderful time and the plus side is the characters in heavy costumes are out more.

Being from the north helps, we think its warmer ;) 1 year the first week was freezing 40's and 50's in the daytime with high winds (about 3 years ago) then the 2nd week we wore shorts the entire time, and swam? At least I didn't do laundry.;) You never know, bring everything!

In the immortal words of scar "be prepared"!!!!

Pack both sets of clothes. I've been in December before (and will be there again the first week of Dec. too) and have pics of the gang wearing shorts and tanks in MGM one day, then bundled up and freezing to death in AK the next. I have never been so cold as I was that day.

Thanks, guys!

I guess if we decide to go this December, I'll be packing a couple pairs of pants and sweatshirts! It will still be warmer than back home in NH!!

Our trip begins the week before Christmas, and I too was wondering about the weather. I guess it's anyone's guess. I do have a friend that lives in the area, so I think I'll be calling her the day we pack our suit cases.

I will be going in the middle of December. I plan to keep an eye on www.weather.com right before we leave. They have a 10-day forecast. This should give me an idea, even though I know that no forecast is 100% accurate, especially at 10 days out, but I figure it will help with packing.
