How Cool is This? I'm DISing from MK!

This very second, 5:44pm and 40 seconds, I am sitting at a table between The Great Movie Ride an the Abc Com
issary. I finished my popcorn but I'm still working on my Diet Coke. There is a Sxottish woman sitting at the next table. I love her accent!! But her smoker's cough sounds just lik an American one does, and it is disgusting.

I think I lost my last post, so I'll try it again. I'm sitting in a smoking section again, but it is very breezy so it's not bothering me. The weather is actually divine, I must say - to quote Martin Short. Speaking of whom, I sure do miss the Wonders of Life pavillion. I loved to see The Making of Me; and I wish they would move Cranium Command somewhere else. Frans and Hans as the "pump it up" guys and Bobcat Goldthwaite as adrenelin are just too good to lose for all time.

:goodvibes You are so awesome for doing this thread!

Where are you headed to now after you're done with your drink?

Also, since I'm sitting here in front of the ABC Theatre, I have to give a shout out to my favorite lost attraction of all time. If I am with my daughters and we walk by, they will look at each other and then say, "We know, Mom. Doug was the best show of all time." There is often some eye rolling as well.

But DOUG!! Was there ever a better show than Doug, really? I was obsessed with it, even though I only saw it on one trip. By the time I returned it was gone. But I remain a devoted fan - I still remember the woman who was so funny trying to be one of the Beets, and Quail Kid...ah, memories!

Now that I've finished my drink I am going to get a wristband for tonight's EMH, in case I want to stay for Fantasmic, and then I' m going in One Man's Dream, since I have an hour to kill before dinner. I'll see you again at The Brown Derby.

This is too cool! I just got an iPhone (thanks DH!) and its soooo cool. Kind of confusing, but cool!

The only thing I miss when I'm at WDW is the DIS. But with this cool new technology, I won't miss anything! ;)

I love your reports! It feels like I'm really there with you. Have a great trip!

Greetings from The Brown Derby, where I'm enjoying a HOT roll with melted butter. It's delicious - just out of the oven. I have two rolls and a pat of butter about two inches square. I may use it all up! A filet mignon and vanilla bean creme brûlée is to follow. I really like the Brown Derby.

I turned my room key in this morning when I checked out so I wouldn't confuse it with my new room key, so of course the CM wouldn't give me a wristband. I can go to Guest Services!! But really, I've done everything I want to do, so I think I'll have a leisurely dinner and then go check into Saratoga Springs. It's been a lovely day at MGM!!

I know! How sad is it that part of me doesn't want to go to Disney because I'll miss sitting at home reading about...Disney.

Ooh, a beautiful filet was just delivered to my table. Excuse me...

I saved 8.26 at dinner and 2.91 at lunch, plus 4.93 at dinner last night. Just a little note to myself!!

The creme brulee is delicious and it's a big serving, with a chocolate biscotti as well. I don't think I can finish it...

Yes, you should try The Brown Derby sometime. It's 2 credits on the DDP so definitely a splurge, but nicer and a different experience than the other MGM restaurants.

And I have a rental car, so I' m just leaving and I'm walking toward the exit. It's dark but the lights are twinkling and this is one of my favorite places in all of Disney. Goodnight from MGM!! See you when I get to my room!

Oooo! Oooo! I volunteer to help you :goodvibes

I have loved reading this thread....I almost died laughing at your description of the mom at the Little Mermaid...I think she must be my clone!! I have been drooling over the iphone for months - another good reason to get one!
-Is the battery life really that short?

Thanks for another lovely day in Disney. Let us know how your accomodations are.

I'm at SSR now, and I like it! At least I think I do. I'm in the Congress Park section, I think. I can't really see my view very well.

It's about 9:15pm, so I think I might try to track down the daughters and call it a night.

Oh, there are decisions to be made. Tomorrow is the last full day, and I had planned to go to AK. But I've done all I want to in both AK and MGM, so should I go to Epcot, MK, a water park, or shop at Downtown Disney and explore this area? Decisions, decisions!!!

We always try to get to MK on our last day! But you do have the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. So, I don't think you can go wrong with either of those parks!

I don't know much about the Iphone battery in a real life scenario. Quite honestly, I've been whipping this baby out about every 5 seconds to see if I have any post replies. If I fully charge it overnight it lasts all day, but gives me the "red zone" (less than 20% battery life left) during dinner time- ish. At home I'll also be able to charge it in the car, which I can't do here.

I have another parent narrator story. This one was earlier in the week at Epcot. I was on Living With the Land. The child was a little boy, about three. He was very apprehensive, so the mom was working hard. "It's going to be fun! No, it's not scary! We are going to see where they grow all the yummy fruits and vegetables!!" And on and on - I thought once we rounded the corner we would all settle down and ride the ride - "Oh, look!see how it's raining! No, it's just fake rain. Look at that big butterfly! See that monkey!!" Once we got to the farm, the baby was totally into it, and from then on he narrated for us -"Yook, Mommy see a doggie!" and so on and so forth. I thought we'd be safer in the greenhouse - "this is where they grow the plants. On, look! See the little bananas! We like bananas, don't we?Yum, yum!"

By this time I was reconciled so it rolled off my back. I did ride it again a second time - making sure I didn't have another narrator nearby...

Hi DVCLiz,

What a great thread. Thanks for all of the great reports. Very Cool!

This has probably been asked, so please excuse me but what are the crowds and weather like? Is it still hot & humid? Just curious???
We arrive on Thurs and we're so excited.

TTFN

I'm one of the 4000 "views" you mentioned - enjoying the report and what a great way to solo it - sharing it with all of us! Can't wait to see what you decide for your last day - tough decision.
