I'm doing my bi-yearly shopping for kids clothes off of ebay and I was trying to find some dresses for my daughter for when we go out to eat and it made me wonder what the weather is like in November there. I was wondering more, how am I going to dress my children then. Will they be wearing sweats or shorts? Do you think a velour dress will be too hot? I need some help. Thanks.

You can wear shorts (all the tourists do anyway, no matter when they come - LOL), but you wouldn't be too hot in pants/jeans. It's very pleasant. You might have cooler nights and early mornings, but midday is beautiful.

Question, though. Why would you be dressing your daughter in a dress (especially velour) to go out to eat in Orlando? It so very casual here, I wouldn't think any of you would have to dress up to that extent. Not at WDW, nor anywhere in Orlando.

We went in December 2000 & during the day we were in shorts/tee shirts & in the evening we had to change to our pants & once or twice we even wore our winter coats! Night time seems to get pretty chilly, & a sweatshirt may not be enough! (Let me make this perfectly clear though...I MUCH prefer cold to heat!)

Thanks for the advice. We like to dress our kids up and go to fancy places to eat at least once during our vacations. I think it is good to teach them proper manners when we go out to eat to a nice place and they sit there and learn to eat with all the different forks and such. They love getting dressed up and going out so we keep doing it. Thanks again!

I will be down there in December. I am sincerely hoping for cool days. I am one of the strange Floridians that prefers the cold over the heat.

We were there the first week of November 2000.

It was beautiful the whole week. Temps in the 80's during the day. It was definitely warm. Some evenings were cooler but shorts were still fine with a sweatshirt or jacket.

We've been down in November several times and have had all kinds of weather. From real hot to rather cool! Last year it was only 43 one morning and we were at MK in our winter coats! I love that time of year down there but I have to pack for a range of temps.

We usually go from Thanksgiving and the following week into December. It can be quite cold. Last year at that time, I wore a long sleeve shirt, a lightweight sweater and a fleece vest with a silk scarf. I am from New hampshire and in my late 40's and I"m usually hot (ya know that change thing is starting) but I was pretty cold.

I guess bring both, warm and cool clothes. If you go to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, by all means dress up the children. I saw quite a few families dressed up to have their Christmas Pictures taken. We only went once the MVMCP and did not dress. I now wish I had.
