Food, experience?

My kids parents would kind of like to use that TS credit for some lobster tails at Captain Jacks-

The other ADR's we have are
-Le Cellier, Chef Mickey,Sci Fi, Boma,Hoop De Doo,Ohana Breakfast, Biergarten,Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Whispering Canyone and CRT-

Thoughts?

Thanks for your input~Jen

it's cool to eat there for the "moving" restaurant aspect (sit on the lower tier for a better view of the ride below) - the food was good, nice variety - and it was relaxing, since you're sitting outward and slowly gliding along

The characters come around a few times and it was very relaxing. The meal was good and my son (7) loved the fact that the restaurant was moving.

Thanks for the post OP.. I was just going to post how the food has been. Just made ressies for 4/24 but I havent eaten there since 2002.

This is one of my kids favorites!
The food isn't fabulous from my POV (I'm a more "adventurous" eater than the kids or DH) but my picky eaters all eat seconds and thirds...They like seeing the ride from the restaurant, and we usually get more character interaction here than at other character meals.

fOOD OK
ds12 thought it was boring, because we went on the boat below and saw the same thing per say
ds4 thought it was ok
for characters we loved liberty tree tavern

We've only eaten there once. We met my sister's family. They made the ADR. I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. It's not a place I'd normally choose, but I'm glad we went. I remember the food being okay. The atmosphere was unique. I loved the changing view of "The Land" below. I wish they offered breakfast or still offered the ice cream social. I'd book either one for the atmosphere. FWIW, we've also met them for dinner at Ohana & Trail's End (neither of which I'd have chosen) & we didn't enjoy those.

We're going to GG in June. I have no idea what you guys are talking about with the restaurant moving. :confused3 This will be our first time to eat there. Will someone explain please?? It sounds pretty cool! :thumbsup2

We went in Sept 07, it was okay. The character interaction was really nice but our service was slow and the food wasn't all that great. We're going to pass on it this trip...

I thought the character interaction was great. My kids loved Farmer Mickey and he let them tickle him. The server was less than fair. He did not crack a smile and seemed less than enthused when I ask for more catfish (I think that was the type of fish). Salad was very fresh, potatoes very tasty (I do think they had sour cream in them) Beans were crisp and both childrens and adults dessert were good. I like the fact that most of the food is produced on Disney Grounds.

My son and I really enjoy Garden Grill - we thought the food was very good, character interaction great and the changing scenes were a nice touch. Also, we felt it was more private and quiet where we were sitting. I recommend GG 100%! Now, having said that......

looks like you already have a lot of great places the kids will enjoy... they definately wouldn't be "deprived" if you didn't get to it on this trip; it would be something new to try on the next one! Treat yourselves to lobster tails if you want! Remember, it's YOUR vacation too!!! :thumbsup2

I just noticed this thread was started on 3/31. It appears they're already at WDW. I'm curious to see if they ate at GG, & what they thought about it. Hopefully, the OP will post a follow-up for us.

GG was/still is one my favorites at Disney. The food is really good and the characters are really neat in their farmer gear. My brother and I also loved the fact that the ride moved when we were younger. The farmer hats were neat too. lol

Could someone answer my question? Thanks!!:cool1:

The restaurant revolves. You're constantly moving, but it moves so slowly you can't really feel it. As it revolves, you see different scenes from The Land ride.

I was there Thursday with my 8yo dd.... I dont know..., I didnt like it that much this time. The food was just ok.. I remember it years ago being better. WE have had a not so great waitress. I though it was funny my dd was not given the kids food but I figured maybe since she was older and it was just the two of us she figured she wanted the adult food. Than I get my bill and she is charged as an adult... no lie we went around 1 full turn before I got the correct bill.
