I tried my mother's maiden name and it said:

There are 1,380 people in the U.S. with the last name ******. Wow! Not too many of them in the states, I guess most of them stayed in Ireland!

Another family last name of German derivation came up with 720 people in the U.S. with the last name *****. Interesting!
