We did our first split stay a couple of years ago, and now I don't know if I will ever not do one. We love it. I wouldn't stay for less than two nights in a resort though. It's easy to do. Just take your bags to bell services, as people said, and then check in to the new hotel. Your bags will follow. We have gotten to the new hotel by bus, monorail, even walked, depending on what resorts you are staying at. We spend the most time on our vacations at Epcot and the MK, so split between resorts at those two areas. Usually one of us takes our son to a park, while the other goes and checks in and takes the carryon bag. It takes a little planning, but we have never felt that it is a pain to do. It really gives us the sense of having two different vacations. Plus, we get to try out more resorts!
