How comfortable are the sofabeds?

I am debating between a 2bdrm or Grand Villa. There are 8 of us -- 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 5 - 8). I know we could all fit in a 2 bdrm, but the kids will go to sleep before us, so they have to be in a bedroom. That means, 2 adults will sleep on the sofabed? Is it comfortable? Doable? We're planning on 5 nights. Thanks for any feedback.

My BIL found the sofa bed at VWL to be comfortable in 2004, and my friend found the one in BWV very comfy this past January. Only thing is while they can sleep 8, it can often seem tight in a 2 bedroom with the full # of people.

Our DD and her 3 friends took it in turns 2 years ago to sleep on the pull out sofa bed but they said they found it uncomfortable.

The sofa beds at SSR are comparable to a picnic table!

First where are you thinking of staying???

There are three styles of sleeper sofa beds...

1- The old bar-in-the-back style that we all know and hate. Still available for a (hopefully) limited time at VWL.

2- The new foam-on-a-board style. One of the newer styles available at SSR and AKV. Most seem to think this is a comfy couch but not so good sleeper. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

3- The new replacement cushions-stay-on style, which also comes with a hidden compartment for pillows! These are available at BCV and BWV. Most seem to think that they are the most comfy of the sleepers but not so good as a couch.

Bad assumption on my part! I thought they all were the same. We haven't totally decided where, but we're leaning towards OKW or BCV/BWV. AKL would be our third choice. I'd love to get OKW Grand Villa, but not sure if we can afford it and doubtful we'd get it.

Oh I forgot OKW. I actually am not sure what is going on there with the sleepers. They had the BITB style but maybe in the process of being replaced. I'm not sure if it is with more BITB, or one of the newer FOAB or a CSO style.

less than 2 weeks ago, i slept on the new style sleeper sofa at the BWVs for 4 nights (i flew down to surprise my nephews ).

very, very comfy, imho.
the other 4 adults slept in the regular king/queen beds, & my 2 nephews (9 & 13yo) slept in the other sleeper sofa without any complaints (aside from things unrelated to the sofabed ). btw, initially we had a hard time finding the pillows b/c we didn't know about the secret compartment for them.

imho, the 2 bdrm was fine for 7 ppl, 5 adults & 2 kids.

I must say, as far as my descriptions go...

I have never slept on any of the Sleeper Sofas. I have laid down on one BCV (old style), BWV (new style) and AKV. So I really don't know how good or bad they are. I just thought I might clarify the different styles and what I have heard.

FWIW, my DS6 proclaimed the SSR pull-out "too hard!" We'll be bringing a mattress topper next time. But I agree with others - it does make a nice sofa!
