How cold are the water rides lately?

We love the water rides at IoA! We usually make a special trip to the park in our swimsuits and sandals just to ride them, get soaked, and then head back to the RPR pool.

We’re going this weekend, and it looks like it will get into the low 70s, but I was wondering just how cold the water in the rides will be. Has anyone been on them lately? We love the heated pools, but getting soaked with real cold water in the rides might not be so fun!

Thanks in advance...

they are not heated.
I know. It’s been a pretty cold winter. I was just wondering if anyone had rode them lately and could give a sense of just how cold they are now (like “not too bad,” “pretty freakin’ cold,” “etc).

I think it depends on your definition of cold...We were just on a Caribbean cruise and while I thought it was WAY too cold to be in the water, other people thought it was great! "Not too bad" probably means something different if your from Minnesota than if your from North Carolina (I've lived in both places so I know it does!!)! :-)

There were people riding water rides today and it was a high of 74. But I guess the definition of cold depends on who you ask.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and the Popeye ride was not too cold. We planned ahead and brought a change of clothes so we were all set afterwards. We walked onto the ride mid-afternoon and it was a highlight of the trip!

I was there mid-December. The temps were in the low 80’s, but I thought the water rides were early cold. We rode 2 water rides back to back and then went back to our hotel for hot showers and a change of clothes.

We should be there next December and I'm hoping to pick the warmest day we have and just do water rides till our clothes can't hold any more water and then walk back to the hotel. Are the water rides sort of close together or spread out all over?

That's what we did in Nov. They are relatively close together. Not right on top of each other but in the same general area. It's a bit of walk to Jurassic River but the other two are close together. It worked out pretty well for us.

Dudley doo-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is closed for refurb at present. They had a wall around it when I was there a few days ago.
