How Closely do they monitor pool entry at YC/BC?

Sorry no one has been able to answer your question. In the past I have always checked with the front desk of the hotel where we have stayed at and have always been told "no problem".......but I have never stayed at YC/BC, so I would call the resort and ask. Let us know what they say.

and thank goodness for that. Otherwise, it would be so crazy crowded because it's undoubtedly the best pool on property. They always check ID's in my experience and they give a bracelet for you to wear. I'm glad they go to such lengths because I'm paying a premium price to stay there and I think the pool should be for guests only.

As a resident of the greater Orlando area, if I had family staying at WDW and wanted to spend time with them, I would either rent a room at the resort they were staying at (that's why we kept one of our DVC contracts!) or suggest we all go to a water park, or skip the swim and find something else to do.

They check everyone. IF it's slow season the CM might allow you to bring a guest if you ask nicely but I wouldn't count on it. The pool isn't large enough to handle guests of guests.

I have only shown one ID for the four of us, That is all I take to the pool with me. Never had a problem before. Id's were issued to all of us.

How about your family PAY to stay at YC/BC, then you wont have any problems using the pool.

I wouldn't pay for the room just to use their pool. My suggestion would be to pay the entrance to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Your family and their family will have more fun there. No one is going to check to see who is staying where. Besides, BB and TL has much more to offer and it is much cheaper to pay for the water park than to pay for the room.

There's so many places to gather together. At a restuarant would be nice or even at the lobby of the hotel or at any parks or at Downtown Disney is a nice place to gather together or better yet how about spending some time at their place. Just a thought.

FYI, DD ended up not particularly liking SAB. She liked the DVC pool in the back of the villas better.

Thanks for the link. Funny thing was that our family took the multi rider bicycle (from the Boardwalk) right by there and did not notice very much of what was shown in that (very comprehensive) link. We will have to plan a stay there so we can experience it first hand!

Its good to hear they're finally monitoring that situation and issuing bracelets. When did that start?

I first stayed at BC six years ago and pool access was being monitored and bracelets given out to guests then.

I don't mean to be rude but I really feel that guests only should use the pool. When non registered guest jump in it makes for bigger crowds (obviously) for the paying guests. I understand your situation but fair is fair.

My sister and her family live in Orlando. I am wondering whether they might be able to come to visit us at the Beach Club during our stay and go to the pool with us.

Can anyone tell me whether it is likely they could just go in with us (a group of 7 staying at BC) or whether they check each person?

Should be guests only. It's not fair to paying guests to have to deal with larger crowds. Fair is fair.

I think it's great that you are asking and want to follow the BC rules. Regardless of any of our opinions, call the resort before you arrive and explain about your family wanting to come in and hang out by the pool with you. If it's a problem, they'll say no, if not, have a great time.

Is good of you to ask first but think about the times where you paid big bucks to stay at a nice hotel and picture everyone else bringing in extra guests for a swim. I really wish they would enforce these rules a lot more. I have read threads where people will book a value resort and then use the pool at SAB or BW. Even day guests at the parks have been known to take a shuttle or monorail over to one of the resorts and crash at the pool. Not good.

Your right. I realy dont get people these days. As i have written before, i cant wait to see the faces of those people who gets told to leave the SAB, and go somewhere else!!.

If you see a pale white dude, speaking a strange language at the SAB (18th- 21st July) rolling around like this , then youll know that someone just got cought and shown where the exit sign is. =
