How clean was your room at check in?

Without daily housekeeping, did you find your room as clean as you’d expect it to be upon arrival? Any issues?

I went down the trip advisor rabbit hole and now am a bit nervous. If staff is that short that they can’t offer daily housekeeping, do they have enough resources to clean well between guests?

Did you feel, given today’s climate where hotels are “supposed” to take “extra” steps to sanitize between guests, that your room was extra clean/sanitized prior to your arrival, no different than pre-2020, or you couldn’t tell?

In our 5 trips to WDW during the pandemic, with the last 4 being within the last 6 months, every room was in excellent condition upon arrival. Zero issues. In fact, I would say that if we did have any issues, I'm confident the CM's we encountered at each resort would attend to any issues right away -- they were that excellent. Everyone's mileage may vary, but all-in-all we were super happy with the cleanliness of our rooms.

We stayed at AKL, GDT, and BC.

We stayed at CBR in November and it did not feel any less clean than any resorts we have stayed in on trips prior to the pandemic. It was clean when we arrived and believe someone came 2-3 times during our 9 day trip to clean and give fresh towels and other supplies. We went on a non Disney trip last month for a week and the hotel we were in they clean prior to you arriving and then only come once on your 4th day or if a longer trip 4 days from that but you could call if you needed more toilet paper, towels, etc before then. On the 2 1/2 day we had a spill on the bed we could not get out so called to have the sheets changed and when we came back to the room after being out all day found they also cleaned and replaced some things and luckily took our trash or else the can was small and starting to overflow. That messed the schedule up so had to call a few times that week for replacements and every time they came to do that also cleaned and took the trash.

I haven’t had any issues with rooms not being clean. If you’re really concerned about rooms being extra clean for covid you can bring some Clorox wipes to wipe down high touch areas such as remotes and door handles.

No issues. Have stayed at Poly, Grand Floridian, and Beach Club in 2022 so far. We did call maintenance to install a clothesline in the shower at Beach Club which was done within a few hours of our call (not sure exactly when as we went down to the pool for awhile and it was done when we came back). Happy with the cleanliness level of the rooms.

This is super reassuring! Thank you!

I've always found Disney housekeeping immaculate, before and after Covid.

I think not offering housekeeping every day actually means more housekeepers are available to deep clean between guests. In my opinion a good way to deal with staff shortages.

On all 4 trips in the last 2 years the rooms have been very clean on arrival.

I’ve been critical of several things Disney has done recently, but on this I have noticed nothing but continued excellent service.

In four trips in the past seven months we’ve had nothing but immaculate housekeeping.

Yacht Club , Coronado Springs , and Polynesian all spotless this year . Other than not having your room cleaned every day it felt like old times 😊

I've been on twelve trips since 2020. All the rooms have been
clean and fresh. But! the hallways...I don't like the towels, trash, etc. that comes from not cleaning the rooms everyday. At the very least they could have put a large trash can and towel receptacle on every floor. I'm still hoping that every day room cleaning will return.
At this point, I don't buy that it's a staffing issue.

We stayed at Pop Century last October, did mobile check in, then came back to our room that evening to find hair all over the bathroom and shower including on the shampoo/bodywash dispensers. Called the front desk and the only solution offered was to have someone deep clean the room the following day and to have someone come deliver individual shampoos and body wash. Neither happened. I ended up cleaning the bathroom. Very disappointing.

I agree. Other nearby hotels offer daily room cleaning. We are staying at Universal Portofino and Disney’s Swan next month. Both offer daily housekeeping. They are also huge resorts yet they found the staff to have daily housekeeping.

I’ve been seeing pictures on trip advisor all the trash And towels in the halls. Looks disgusting.

I've been 4 times since April 2021. Stayed in CSR, ASMo and Dolphin. All rooms clean upon arrival. No cleaning during 5 night trip at CSR but only because I requested no cleaning (I don't like people in my room, I pick up after myself and hang my towels up any way). ASMo was only a 2 night stay. Dolphin they have come about every 3 days, again I requested no cleaning but they came and made the bed and emptied the trash, which I actually didn't like since I requested they not. Did text and request more towels and water on two trips, which they delivered one trip within 30 min. of my requesting and the other at some point while I was out of the room. I had them take the trash and used towels with them the time they came while I was in the room, they did it anyway the time I wasn't.

And I'm not blaming the guests. Even two people in a room
can run out of towels and have overflowing trash. It's
worse now that they don't have trash liners in the trash cans.
No one wants to pay $500 a night, and have to walk an obstacle
course of gross in the hallway. I'm a very happy camper when I go
to WDW, but this is the one thing that really bothers me. I have complained to guest services multiple times about this.

I have gone about 5 times since reopening, and my rooms, at all levels of resorts, have been incredibly clean. I feel that they are much cleaner now then they were before the shutdown.

Ew no no no!! I will definitely be grossed out if we see this! Regardless if I am paying to stay at Contemporary (which we are) or if we were staying at one of the values… I expect public areas (like hallways) to be clean!!!
