I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to check to find out if there are large gatherings, conventions etc in Orlando on any given weekend?
We booked our trip a few weeks ago and not being a Nascar fan I had NO idea it was Daytona weekend and man the parks and trafic were nasty :(

We want to go back 2/18-2/20 and I was wondering how to find out if that weekend has any big events in Orlando (or close) that I shuld know abut.

Thanks for the help :)

LOL, it is Sunday afternoon, the slowest time of the week, except maybe at 3 in the morning. Best would be to repost later tonight (but I think the Oscar thing is on, so may be slow tonight also). Very best is to post tomorrow, about 10 AM, see what you get, and then again, give it a bump (if not many replies) early evening tomorrow, about 7 PM.

You might get in touch with the Orlando Convention and Visitor's Bureau, or whatever their equivalent is. Ours usually has a heads up on what's going to be in town, based on occupancy of local hotels (in our area, things like the High Point furniture market, etc.)

Thats a great idea , thankyou both a bunch !

Dusty~ President's Day is observed around that time, which means that kids are out of school, long weekend= going to WDW. This year, the kids had the 17th and 20th off school. However, the 17th ended up being a full school day in order to make-up one of the many days missed during last year's hurricanes. There were still many kids that didn't go to school that day, it was obvious during pick-up and drop-off. They did have the 20th off and the only reason we didn't go to WDW is because I didn't have that day off and had a big test to prepare for. :teeth:

Do you mean NEXT February? Presidents weekend will always be busy at the parks as the Spring Breaks are all starting and everyone heads South.

www.icflorida.com names events that will be up and coming
