how can people do things like this?

That's sickening.

That is so sad. People who do things like this should be made to suffer the same treatment!

I saw that on the news last night and cried. I hope they hang her out to dry.

That is just sickening. How can people do things like this?

This breaks my heart. Those poor children :(

I saw this on the news last night and said the same thing to DH...what is wrong with people...It breaks my heart to see or hear things like this...How sad for those children! :(

UGH!! She agreed to take care of them, so it says...so sad. :(

I agree.....some people are just so sick!! My only question is why was she watching them for so long? According to the news, the Mother was in the Hospital because she was hit by a car this past weekend. The report on the dead child was that he was dead about 2 weeks.

Some people should not have children and/or babysit for comeone elses children.

Sad very sad.

However, in some countries, this is common.

In Cambodia, there are beggar families. The heads of the families usually keep the children starved all the time so when the families beg, they get more money.

Same with a child with sickness, the children stay sick, the parents do not seek medical treatment, clinics, etc... because they are the "money makers" by being sick.

Many of my friends have gone to Cambodia for business, and that is very commonplace there

Another common thing is if you are poorer, to have your teenage/preteen daughter or sometimes son kidnapped by richer, more powerful people to become a prostitute.

This has happened to some of our church members in Cambodia. If they do get the money for the ransom, (usually 3 or 4 years salary), they do get the child back, but due to the emotional, physical scars, the families are hurt all around.

According to what I just read, the mother had been hit by a car in NY several months ago (investigators are still not sure about this). One of the boys who did was a twin, and his brothers did not know that he was dead in another room.

What a sick sad world.

My dh always tells me not to try and understand it 'cause you just can't. Those poor kids.:(

it's just plain disgusting. I don't even know what else to say.

My question has always been -- why do people like that even have children???

If they can't take care of their children, there should be somewhere where they can take them so that families (who are waiting and waiting) can adopt them and give them a good home.

In Korea, if you cannot keep a child, they have what they call "police boxes" which is really a kind of fenced in area you can place the child and it is monitored constantly by the police. The children are picked up and taken to an orphanage or a foster home for placement in a loving family.

We adopted our DD from Korea 16 years ago and some of the families who were waiting as we were, had children placed with them who were left in "police boxes."

At least it's an outlet for those who can't care for their children.

The kids weren't in the care of either of their parents. They were with a family friend wh owas watching them. Mom is is the hospital, I haven't heard where the Dad is

NJ woman charged

Murphy's cousin, Melinda Williams, is the boy's mother. Williams is hospitalized in New York City after a car accident, authorities said.

Williams told police she put the children in Murphy's care in March when she went to the Essex County Jail to serve time for an assault conviction. She was released in August, but she told police she could not find Murphy or the children, James said.

in other words, mom gave the boys to her cousin while mom was in jail, and for some reason the boys stayed with the cousin even after mom got out of jail. obviously the father isn't around.
