Ok so I’m taking my first stab at a pre-trip report and let me tell you… I am excited! I have one vacation day left from my holiday break, and with the kids back to school my plan was to catch up on some paperwork that I left untouched before break, so I could get a fresh start on my week tomorrow. Unfortunately my paperwork does not include Disney planning, so I may start my week off behind.

With deciding last week that in lieu of an anniversary trip to Vegas we would be packing up the kids and heading back to Disney, (Yay! This is much to my preference) I’ve had Disney on the brain. I have been planning non-stop for 4 day! DH just shakes his head in disbelief, but I know deep down he’ll appreciate it when I plan a FABULOUS vacation week for us!

This will be our 2nd visit to the world, and our first time staying on site. We spend a week in 2009 at Christmas and had the best time of our lives! So here we go for another run.

Trip Dates: May 8-14 at Pop Century!
Since I’m new to DIS boards let me start with some introductions.

Me first! I’m Marci, 34 years old and busy working mom. I am a RN Manager and in my current position I am the project manager for implementing an electronic medical record system into our facility. Oh yeah, I am a self proclaimed computer geek. :surfweb: Loves all Disney but has a weakness for Pooh.

DH (49) lover of all things Disney. When we met I soon found out that he collected Disney Movies. He had every movie ever made available on VHS. We have since not converted that to DVD, but we have an impressive if seldom used video collection.

DD(13…will be 14 during the trip) Full fledge computer geek gamer chic, with a hidden obsession for all things Pooh. Oh and she claims she will NEVER be anything like me… (if you were paying attention to my intro you’ll find she’s not succeeding well at that endeavor) She is quiet and reserved albeit moody… but hey she’s a teenager.
DS (8) My happy go lucky ray of sunshine. Rarely does he not have a smile on his face, or a kind word to say. And at the tender age of 8 is a Roller Coaster fanatic! If you ask him about our first Disney trip in 2009 all he will be able to tell you about is the Rock-N-Roller Coaster and Space Mountain.

More to come....

All booked and ADRs made last night! :cool1:

I'll update on them later...back to work today.

Vegas??? No! Disney!

So DH will turn 50 this year and we will also celebrate our 15th anniversary. We just knew something special had to happen! We were all set on a trip just the two of us to Vegas. Sounds fun… but then the planning starts. Which hotel, which flight? What dates? Wait… who’ll watch the kids? Oh heck with it, let’s just pack them up too and head to Disney! :cool1:

So on New Year’s Eve the decision was made and my planning began! I have been browsing the boards here watching all the surprise videos and how people are keeping their trips secret. I so long to be able to share a memory like that with my kids…unfortunately I get MORE excited than my kids with the thought of returning. The decision was made at 7:30am with the house quiet, over a cup of coffee with just DH an me. Every inch of me is saying keep it quiet, keep it quiet we’ll find a cool way to tell them… 7:45am DS wanders out of his bedroom, into the kitchen to be greeted by me. “Good morning! We’re going to Disney go tell your sister!” Ok so not so cool. But I got the shrieks of joy nonetheless for DS. DD on the other had wanders in the kitchen and says glumly.. “that’s cool… where will we eat? “ :confused3

So after booking our dates at the Pop Century I called DD and we did our ADR planning. Being that she LOVES eating out more than anyone of us I let her do most of the picks. Let me know how she did!
Arrive Sunday afternoon and grab quick somewhere for dinner
Monday: Breakfast: Crystal Palace
Tuesday: O’Hana for dinner
Wednesday: Chef Mickey for Breakfast
Coral Reef for Dinner
Thursday: Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package for lunch
Friday: Teppen Edo for dinner. (a must have for as she is enthralled in Japan)

This is our first time staying on site, and even making dinner reservations. Our first trip we didn’t have any table service meals because we had no idea to make reservations in advance! I’m nervous about our choices, but it’s early… we can still change!
