How can I remove myself from Facebook?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove myself from Facebook? I really do not use it and do not want it anymore. Thanks.

Go to account settings under settings on the top right. At the bottom of account settings there should be a deactivate account option.

It's the very last option. Just click "Deactivate."

That said, it never really goes away. DD has removed herself a couple of times, and when she goes to reinstate herself everything is still there.

If this is the case, OP, you could just change your "real name" to something generic like Jane Doe and then just delete all of your information (pictures, information, etc.) Then no one will be able to find you.

If she's deactivated they won't find her, either. Nothing will be visible to her former friends, etc. But if she uses the same e-mail address to sign up again, all of the old information will still be there, she'll automatically be friends with all of the old friends, etc.

Yes, but the information is still there. People can still find it, if she's worried about it, she should delete everything.

although, once it was ever on the internet, really, there's a chance it can always be found again, years down the road.
