I know it is Hard! LOL Tried 180 days out and nada!! Any tips? I have only tried online, should I call? Just keep checking? Thanks!

Check and check again! I would look every time I picked up my iPad, and I finally got a 7:00! DH thought I was crazy for checking, but it paid off. Good luck!

check in the AM and PM daily.. people are always changing their plans, when that magic date approaches where cancellations are a must look hard for the ADR..

Another trick is to not only choose "Dinner" and your group amount.

Lets say you have a family of 5 and want a dinner ADR. It is time consuming but will pay off big, do this.

Choose 5pm, 5 people.. then change to 4 people, then 6 people.. heck even 3 people..
then chose 6pm.. do the same thing with the people.
and so on.. if you do this on a non-popular ADR you will see every modification will pull up a different time. so by doing this with BOG ADR you are increasing your chances over just choosing dinner and 5 people.

This is how I landed ours.. plus I do this with most of our ADRs. Like this past weekends Crystal Palace was pulling up 8:45 and like a 9:30am Ressie.. we wanted 8:00am so we could be done by rope drop.
I kept messing with the options until an 8:00am popped up :) BOOM!

I used to work at Be Our Guest, so I just wanted to give you my input.

If you really want to go in just to see the castle (which is beautiful), and to get a bite to eat I would highly recommend lunch. The dinner option is nice, because it is more formal, much less hectic, and the food is slightly more upscale but the lunch option (in my opinion) is just as good. The food is pretty good for a quick service restaurant, your food arrives at your table magically (which is awesome no matter how old you are), and you still get to see the castle!

Also here's a helpful hint: If you are feeling overwhelmed with the day and prefer a quieter area for lunch I would suggest eating in the Rose gallery. You can still walk around to see the ballroom and the West Wing, but as you can imagine those areas get filled fast and are very loud and hectic. However, the Rose Gallery was barely ever full and offered a much quieter atmosphere.

Dinner is amazing of course, but lunch is definitely a good option if you can't get in for dinner!

I don't understand the suggestion of looking for a reservation for fewer people than your whole group.

If you are a family of 5 you need to look for a reservation for at least 5. You can go up to 6 or 7, but going down to only 4 or 3 can be a problem. To guarantee that you'll all be seated at the restaurant, everyone needs to be included in the reservation because of fire and safety code regulations. If you get a reservation for fewer than your group you take the chance of someone in your group not getting seated. Or you would have to look for a second reservation for the same time for the rest of your group, then ask at the podium if you can be seated together. Again, there's no guarantee that the CMs will be able to do this. It's always easier to show up with fewer people than on your reservation rather than show up with extra people and hope they'll be accommodated.

To the OP: Persistence. BOG is the hardest reservation to get so you need to keep checking online multiple times a day. Because of the cancellation penalty people will cancel when their plans change. Since the cancellations go back into the system almost immediately it is a matter of luckily being online looking just as one enters the system.

Whether you check online or call in won't make a difference in availability, but online is quicker.

If you figure out the magic trick, let me know!!! For now I'll just be stalking the reservation site :rotfl:

We definitely will be doing this if I have no luck! Thank you!! :goodvibes

I staked the page a few times a day and just scored BOG in Aug. Not the best time (9pm) by still have ADR. I will keep trying for a better time.

Ok makes sense why a CM said to me on the phone ... Oh you got 2 BOG reservations for your vacations that was lucky! In a happy tone. Didn't get it but hard to get

I just booked my trip today! Anyway, the cast member I spoke to suggested calling if you can't get it online, because online you have to select certain times, and by phone they have a little more flexibility. I'm going to aim for lunch because of cost, but that's what she told me to do if I wanted to try for dinner. :)

That is exactly what we decided to do and thus have eliminated all the stress of constantly searching for a cancellation. We really just want to see the castle anyway and know the lunch will be just as delicious. Thanks for the confirmation!

I'm not sure it will help the OP, but here's how we always handle a hard-to-get ADR: we book it for the very end of our trip.

Fewer people will have had "+10" access to the dates 187 days from the day you're calling in those ADRs than the number who will have had access to dates 181 days away.

Also, our travel agent is on the phone at 7 am. If I were calling them in myself, it wouldn't be until I got home from school at 4 pm.

We've never NOT gotten an ADR we wanted. True, our BoG dinner will be a bit early-- at 4:45 pm. (But then again, because of conflicting desires, we booked it on day 6, not day 7.)

The best of luck to everyone trying to get what their families want!

I would also recommend trying at 45 days as this is the last day people can cancel trips without penalty. I've been stalking for an earlier time as we have 8:45pm & when I called the CM said suggested to check at 45 days, check daily and on the day you are at MK to try in the morning as there might be a cancellation, not guaranteed she said but worth a try. :)
