How can I fix this?? Bead Outpost situation all fixed!

Update: all fixed - a fb friend is bringing home a bracelet



DD was so excited to get a bracelet from the Bead Outpost in Epcot yesterday, the last day of our trip. We loved the idea of them being made of recycled park maps.

We didn't think anything of it when they bagged the bracelet IN a recycled park map. And DH didn't think at all when he cleaned out the backpack and threw away all the park maps that we didn't need anymore, since we flew home today.

And then....Disaster! We got home, and unpacked and realized what he had done. I feel so badly about this - she didn't really get any other souvenirs on this trip.

So, is there a way I can fix this? Will Disney mail me one if I call and pay with a credit card? I can't find any mention of them on the park merchandise website... Does anyone on the boards ever serve as a personal shopper for other Disers?

Any ideas would be so appreciated!

You can also email the mail order dept to see if they can send you one. I did this with a t-shirt that I wanted that I never got back to the park to get.

On a side note, we loved this bead outpost as well! We noticed how they packaged it and quickly put it in our backpack or I'm POSITIVE we would have done the same thing. Good to recycle but awfully easy to confuse!!!

On a personal note, even better for us than the fact that they are recycling is the fact that my husband took a trip to Kenya last year and met some of the Massai women who make beads like this to support their family and help the water crisis - the exact same location that the Disney beads are made from and support. It's a great step for Disney and we were happy to purchase some items at this spot!!!

Does anyone have some pictures of these bracelets? Sound interesting! I loved the little purses at AK that they sold of old candy wrappers, but WOW were they expensive. Are these very $$$$$$?

Not the best photo but here is mine. Think is was $10? If you don't care about it being made from park maps they are much cheaper direct on their website.

The location is in the Outpost area of World Showcase (right next to the wood carver). The prices ranged from $7 for earrings (which my DD10 got and loves) and $22 for the largest size necklace, I believe. They had several items to choose from (including both adult and kids size bracelets) in between those ranges. They had many different colors and all of the different colors were named after Disney characters based on all the colors included in the item and they even had one necklace that had all the "characters" in it. Pretty neat! And, again, going to a great cause!

There is either another kiosk, or a different but similar thing, outside of Rock 'n Roller Coaster at DHS, too.


I think calling disney about it would be good anyway, since that sounds like a problem-heavy way of packaging the bracelets, and they should know about it.

I just want to say I had an experience last April, I didn't buy a sweatshirt nor a tee shirt from our cruise, well, a disser came to my rescue and I have both tee and sweatshirt these boards are super with help all the way around Good luck.
I will have to look for those bracelets as well..
