How can I accomplish this upgrade?

The club queen is posted for 299. If I booked that the villa would be the normal upgrade and I would save a hundred dollars a day. Thats enough to pop for a spa treatment.

I wanted to bump this up and let you know what happens. I emailed Brian and let him know that I was requesting a "complimentary" upgrade. I did offer to cancel the king bay view for 209 and book a deluxe club for 299 if I could get the villa suite upgrade. That will save me $200 that I can send of the wife at the spa. Haven't heard back?

ok, so you are saying you got your wish..........

good for you.

and, we need more brian's at the hotels.

...If you can secure one of the two on the top floor of the west wing, I think your wife will be thrilled. Full sized balconies with table and chairs run the length of the parlor and there are covered balconies (my favorite) for both of the two queen connectors. Regular full sized balconies come with the king connectors. It's basically like having three balconies when most people can't even get a stepout not to mention the view of the bay is fantastic. You can see the covered balconies and the other spreads if you find a picture of the west wing online. On the top floor (5th), one is a pinkish color and the other is red.

They won't secure either but he said he'd keep an "eye" on them for me. We usually check in at dawn so I won't be beat to the draw but it could be a long wait until the room is ready. We will still get to access the club for breakfast. DW doesn't have a park ticket so we'll abandon her in the club and head to the parks.
Now, I'm looking all over the place for pictures of the west wing and can't find them. I have an aerial of PBH and think I've located where the rooms would be but can't see the balconies because they are covered.

Do they have any heartburn when you take stuff out of the club lounge to eat back at the room? I mean the room has this big dining room table and an awesome balcony? Why would we want to eat in the club? I'm going to take the TV tray that my kids got for me to take to our last club visit and fill it up to cart back to the hungry mouths in the room.

It's not even close enough to countdown the April visit and I'm like the kids in the WDW ad "I'm too excited to sleep!" :hyper:
We are going to Mardi Gras to see Bad to the Bone" Geo. Thorogood in less than a month so that might fill the gap.

We were there in Jan. and it was empty all week until the weekend. Then there was no where to sit down and the associates were very busy trying to make sure there was food out. I did noticed then that there were a few trays over by the bagels. An associate pointed them out to someone that did not have a place to sit down. I also noticed many people taking out food that day. We loved club all week, but it was very bad for breakfast on the weekend.

I have never done club so take this for what it is worth. If you get the room of your choice at PBH, it will be a bit of a hike to the lounge. I think since a lot of PBH club includes key access and not just proximity, that they expect people to bring food back for their sleepy travel companions. Why elso would they have the trays?

I also noticed trays by the bagel area but it was at the antipasto hour and many were taking food to eat by the pool and on the terrace just outside the club lounge. One also asked for additional trays and more food when it was not noticed that it was running low. I find that when Kristin is there the food and everything runs smoothly but when some of the new younger crowd are there -there is more conversation than replenishment. Don't be shy if the hot food item disappears -ask for more as many others did. Enjoy!

Motherfletcher,

Brian is a really great guy and very helpful. Congrats on getting what you wanted.

RyGuy, (or anyone) do the hospitality suites have a balcony? I'm trying to score the 'villa suite' upgrade...I made platinum this year. We've got 3 deluxe rooms booked - doing an extended family trip. Looking at the website, it looks like the hospitality suite is bigger, which would be nice when we're all hanging out together. Do you think I've got a chance at it?

tia,
Kim

Thanks again RyGuy for the great information.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we have good luck again in getting a west wing villa suite. Although any of the Villa Suites would be nice.

Hospitaility Suites (or the one we were just in) do not have balconies. BUT you could get a workout just going from one connecting room to another.

hannahouse,

The two hospitality suites on the ground floor have patios with table and chairs. The other four unfortunately don't have balconies. You said you have deluxe rooms booked. Just wanted to remind you that hospitality parlors connect to standard garden view rooms overlooking the villa pool and a grassy courtyard. If you were to get the villa upgrade your actual rooms would be sort of a down grade. I would go for the villa suite if I were you. All six villa suites have bay views which I prefer over any view in the hotel. The villa parlors are the exact same layout as the hospitality parlors minus about 300 square feet or so. Villa suites are very big and roomy but hospitality suites are downright massive. Good luck!

Thanks to both of you for the info... I was able to get the upgrade to the villa suite, and do think we'll enjoy it most. We ended up changing one room to a bay view in order to have it be close to the suite. Can't wait, it sounds amazing!
