Is Disney at Thanksgiving. I am thinking about going during Thanksgiving next year instead of during Christmas week. Most of the decorations will be up correct?
Christmas = 11 on scale of 1-10 of crowd levels
Thanksgiving = 10.5
4th of july = 10
That being said, if you have never been to disney during thanksgiving to christmas, it's a must see. It is a very special site to see. Disney captures the season well.
But, if you go thanksgiving week, or the week between christmas and newyears, don expect to ride very much. It's for the most part shoulder to shoulder everywhere you go.
I'd actually put Thaksgiving below July 4th. I've been to several Thanksgivings at Disney World and we really never heard of a park being dangerously close to closing because of the crowds. And we stay offsite for the holiday. And we don't get there at the crack of dawn and spend all day in one park.
It will be crowded and you will have to make your Thanksgiving Day dinner reservations as early as possible. Also realize that many restaurants will go to a Thanksgiving menu instead of their normal one.
All the decorations will be up and all the special Christmas activities will start the day after Thanksgiving. Except the Osbourne Lights which start earlier.
I love Disney World for Thanksgiving because that's when the real Christmas season starts for me. I'm ignoring all the stuff that has been in the stores since September. It won't be Christmas until I'm home from Thanksgiving at Disney World.
That is usually correct. For us to get to go to MVMCP this year, we are leaving early, early, early on the Friday of the 16th (that's this friday!) so that we can get to the last MVMCP before Thanksgiving. There isn't another one until after Thanksgiving weekend.
