How busy is Thanksgiving week?

We are thinking of going Thanksgiving week next year and was wondering how crazy it will be? We have been during July 4th, so we know that kind of busy! Also, what is the weather typically? Can we still enjoy the pool? Will the resorts be decorated for the holiday?

If you can go just after Thanksgiving, the crowds get real light. It is real busy up to the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The Christmas decorations are up and they are wonderful! The weather is also generally good and you can use the pools. It can get cold, however.

We were at WDW the whole week of Thanksgiving last year as well as the week after. It did get pretty busy from Wednesday through Saturday, but not totally unbearable as long as we did our park touring in the AM and stuck to the resort in the mid day.

Great pool weather!

We are trying to find a happy medium. If I researched correctly, the Osborne Lights and Processional don't start until Sunday after Thanksgiving. We would definately want to see those and take advantage of being off work for Turkey day. What if we went Wednesday-Wednesday?

Lights and Processional start Friday after Thanksgiving this year. MVMCP resumes Sun. after Thanksgiving.

Right now I think the "crowd calendar" on a certain website says that the week of Thanksgiving is a 7, all week. Not bad. Of course that could change if more people decide to go.:)

We are thinking of going from Thanksgiving day until the Wednesday/Thursday after. I have friends who are going Sunday before until Sunday after so we could overlap and have a few days with them. I think it sounds like a great idea. But, shhhhh let's not tell everyone :thumbsup2

We were at the parks by rope drop and were out of there by 2pm or so for a rest. Back again after dinner and enjoyed a few evening hours in the park. We had a wonderful time. If you can swing Sat before Thanksgiving to Fri after Thanksgiving day you will enjoy yourself more. Wed crowds pick up and stay through the weekend.

The weather is dicey--I looked back at my pictures the other day and we had light jackets on all day. Mornings were chilly and evening were cold! We forced ourselves to go to the pool one day but it was really chilly. Right now I am planning on packing mostly long sleeved shirts and capris. I'll pack tshirts and shorts too but very little.

That's typically how we tour parks, so that is good to know that it is manageable(SP?)! We want to get in MVMCP and the Christmas activities, so we thought if go on Wed-Wed, then we would deal with the crowds and they would be gone in time for the last few days of our trip! SAT-SAT just doesn't give us time to enjoy the Christmas fun!
