Hi! I just joined the forums. I love all the info you can find here! I have a question for those of you more experiences than me. I have only been to Disney World twice and each time just for one day. We're hoping to go to disney world in may. We are thinking about leaving on Friday of memorial day weekend. We wouldn't check into the hotel at disney until Saturday night. Sunday would start our first day in the parks. We would have 4 day PH passes. We have little ones with us and are wondering how busy it will be. If we don't go that weekend it will be leaving sometime that week of memorial day. How busy is that weekend and the week following? This will probably be our only trip for many years if ever (financial, not that we don't like going). So we want to make the very most of our trip and not spend hours in line. Thanks so much!
God bless,
Mandy

Holiday weekends are busy. (They just ARE.)
And MemDay begins the very busy summertime at WDW.

Of coruse, every time I say that its going to be busy at a certain time (even Christmas and New Years,) someone jumps in to say that it WON'T be busy, so you'll just have to go and see what you think.

Have a wonerful trip!!!

And :welcome: to the DISboards!!

Your plan is pretty much what we did last year. We left home and drove part way the Friday before Memorial Day, checked into our resort midday on Saturday and headed to the parks. We were there for the whole week - did parks everyday from Sat. afternoon through Friday. While the Memorial Day weekend crowds were not horrible, I would recommend waiting until later in the week if you can. Sat, Sun, and Mon were pretty crowded. We saw much lower crowd levels from Tuesday through the end of the week. The only time we ran into big crowds later in the week was when we made the mistake of going to Magic Kingdom on an EMH day. If you're staying onsite and want to take advantage of EMH, I would suggest you get park hoppers so that you don't have to stay in the EMH park all day.
