How busy is it in June?

We have cruised twice now so far both on the Fantasy once in November and once in May, with a European cruise coming up on the Magic this September.

We would like to take another cruise on the Fantasy in 2017 as we will be celebrating both an anniversary and a special birthday but these both fall in June. Using previous years pricing as a guide, June seems an expensive time to cruise (particularly in comparison to what we have paid previously) but as we are celebrating these two events we are tempted to the bite the bullet and go for it when June goes on sale.

I don't know how full the ships were on our previous cruises, but is June likely to be busier? Are there any other down sides to cruising then (I'm aware it is the start of hurricane season)?

Any experience or advice you can give would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I as far as what I have heard, is that most DCL sailing, no matter what the date of sailing, are 95% full. I feel the only difference is that when it's warmer, the pools and outside areas are busier. We sailed last June on the Dream, and being such a large ship never once felt crowded. Only the family pools seemed busy. Here a few pictures of common areas and CC (we got there around 9:30 am) and you can see there are no crowds.

The only time I really notice "all the people" was pirate night. Deck 11 was pretty packed, but deck 12 was not near as crowded.

This was CC at 9:30. It got a lot busier around noon, but never more busy than a public beach here in Florida.

Thanks for this information, it is really useful to see the pictures to make the comparison - it doesn't look any busier than what we experienced previously! That would fit in with the all cruises 95% full statistic too.

I feel more relaxed about going in June now, it's just the price to get over now!

Probably will be busier in late June when schools are out.

Thanks, I can see how that would be the case. We would be sailing mid-June so hopefully would avoid the schools then. I'm from the UK and are schools don't break for the summer until July so this is earlier than what we are use to.

Schools in our area break for summer the last week of May. I expect the summer break crowds will start to fill in right around the end of May/ beginning of June. Our last day is May 22.

My info and pictures above are from June 12th, 2015. I would definitely sail in June again. The weather and water were perfect. Only sailing in April this year to celebrate an anniversary.

That is a lot earlier than over here. Good to know, thanks!

Depending on when the itinerary falls (we would probably want to do an Eastern) that would be the week we would want to sail! It is nice to know you would go back that week and that the conditions were so good, thanks.
