How Busy is a Crowd Level 6 or 7?

I just want to get an idea of how busy our days will be. Most of our days, according to touringplans, are a 5, so I assume that'll be decent crowds, but how busy is a 6 or 7? What kind of lines are we looking at? Just looking for some kind of estimate from people who go often enough to know what the crowd levels feel like. For reference, we'll be there from April 27th to May 4th, but won't be in the parks the first or last day.

Also, do you find easywdw's prediction of crowd levels better than touringplans? Easywdw predicts the crowds will be lower than what touringplans is predicting for our days

I am a teacher so we always travel during busy times. We have always had 6-8 days and with FP, Rope Drop and a good touring plan the longest we waited was Dumbo for 35 minutes in the middle of the day (when only 1 side was open). Most rides were under 20 minutes. We did everything we wanted to and had a great time both times we have gone (2011 and 2012). There are a lot of people but it is completely manageable. Now we are not parade people so that might be hard with the crowds.

Me too we're there April 29th- May 7th and all our park days are 5's!!!!!

Our last day was a level 6, though I'm not sure if that was one park or all of them. Anyway, we started at AK and it wasn't terrible at all in the morning. Got crowded by the end of the day with a big wait for the Safari but that could've been because EE was down. MK was crowded but we did arrive at 7:20 right before the 8pm parade. Once we cleared Main Street it wasn't bad at all. The Space and Big Thunder had long waits but Splash was only 10-15. It was 'busier' than the other days but not terrible at all.

We were supposed to be there this week and the crowd predictors are super low, we had to change to mid December and are now looking at 6-7s for the whole week! :scared1:

Those are our exact dates too!! :goodvibes

We are staying at AoA Finding Nemo suite

That's where my kids want to stay!! But we have been gifted a week at Marriott's Cypress Harbour and I can't pass up a free two bedroom condo. I am still thinking about spending one night at AOA and spend the day at the hotel just for the kids but don't know if it will be worth packing everything up lol.

Like others mentioned, 6 or 7 isn't bad if you have a plan and get there early. It isn't even awful overall. When it becomes an issue is when you get there late, pick the most crowded park for the day, and wander around with no plan. We did that once (Labour Day weekend) and regretted it. It ended up being about an 8 and the line for Pirates was so long we waited outside for 20 minutes before the line even got inside. It wasn't worth it because if we had just made it there early and followed a plan we would have breezed right through.

So it's completely manageable, I would just have a loose plan for best park and getting there early.

You are looking at 30-60 minutes for the most popular rides and maybe 20 minutes max for the others at a 6 or 7 from our experience. The exceptions are Peter Pan, Soarin' and those types that are always longer. Most others shouldn't be that bad. I would suggest getting to the parks early and hitting the must do's before it gets too busy. Have fun! After all, crowds or not, you are in Disney and that's what it is about.

I would not be able to pass that up either!

The kids are really excited!!

OP I've been during times when it says 5/6/7 as crowds and they really aren't that bad, except for the parades. They get really busy. My family (except for me) love the parades and 'have' to see them multiple times. If there is a parade in a park that we are in you better believe that my family will be waiting for it. :lmao:

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! I really just wanted to know because there are one or two days where touringplans and easywdw contradict each other on which park is the best one, but now I'm thinking it won't make too much of a difference. I'm honestly just excited to be there!

I learned a long time ago to not worry about crowds. I have been the parks on 2 new years eves (epcot on the 99-2000) and many thanks giving and christmas days.

I go expecting the worst and end up being happy when things are not so bad. but i wont let a park preditor decide my habbits.

A note about the 99-2000 new years eve. We went to epcot because by 7:00am the magic kingdom road was grid locked. We went the back roads and parked at the swan (back then there was no gate).

the line for the international gateway to epcot was all the way back to the dolphin at 8:00am. Only took about an hor to get into epcot.

we then spent the next 16 hours being shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers. did not ride a single ride. just being in the park with all those people was the ride.

saw illuminations from the top steps of the canada pavillion.
