How busy are water parks in mid-March?

I've never been to either BB or TL but think we'll go to at least one of them for a half day during our upcoming trip in mid-March - the week before Easter. The theme parks will be really crowded for sure, but what can we expect for the water parks? Appreciate any guidance like what does crowded mean (i.e., how long do you wait for a water slide or other attraction). Also, if we only hit one, do folks recommend BB or TL and why (I'm sure some will prefer one and some will prefer the other)? DD14 likes water slides, lazy rivers, etc. but not into super-thrill rides (she doesn't do roller coasters, for example). Thanks!

Looks like I never got a response -- maybe the question was too specific by referring to mid-March. Can someone tell me how crowded water parks commonly get when crowded (whatever month) -- how long are wait times for the slides, for example? Also would love guidance about which to pick for a 14-year old who loves slides and lazy rivers but not super-thrill rides. Thanks!

I don't know how relevant my answer will be to your situation, so take it as it is.

In early February 2014 I went to Typhoon Lagoon. Arrived shortly after opening. I didn't wait more than 3 minutes in any line for the first 4 hours of the day.

Again, early February is a less busy time of year, but only 1 water park was open at that time, whereas both will be opened up by the middle of March, more evenly distributing crowds.

The best advice I can give you for visiting a WDW water park is to avoid the weekend if possible, and pick a day when the weather is warm, but overcast. You'll have less people planning to visit on a day like that.

Both water parks have smaller water slides for kids of all ages. Check out some YouTube videos. The slides at Blizzard Beach are more fun, but the theme-ing at Typhoon is nicer in my opinion.

Also Typhoon's wave pool is super super fun.

Sorry for jumping in, but what was the temperature like in early February? I'm worried about it being warm enough to even swim at the resort during Easter week. I know the pools are heated, but wondered about the water parks and how that worked/felt getting in and out and going down slides, etc.

Well, you won't like my answer, but when I was there is was pretty chilly. Probably 50-60 degrees most days. One night dipped to 40.

The day we went to Typhoon was a little warmer, low 70's.

Average high for Orlando end of March is around 75, so I wouldn't worry too much. Like you said the water is heated, the colder it is the less busy the water park is generally, plus it's the perfect temperature for going through the other parks.

That's what I figured. Orlando seems to average about 15-20 degrees warmer than us (eastern NC), so that seems right. Of course, this year the weather has been so insane there's no telling what March will be like thanks to El Nino.
