Well, the game made 3 people in my family happy, but 2 of us are Mets fans and we really are tired of the Yankee fans in the family!

Great game. As a Phillies fan I could care less what happens to either team but it is fun to watch a team crash and burn like the Dead Sox.

My problem is the NY hype machine. Granted Jeter made a nice play but they (ESPN, newspapers, etc,) are acting like it was one of the greatest plays in the history of baseball. Give me an explitive-filled break.

Watch any basketball game and you'll see the same thing happen. Wow, instead of falling three rows into the stands he fell five. I'm sure by the end of the weekend the Franklin Mint will be hawking it on some coin.

Sorry for the rant.

My family was EXTREMELY happy last night, as John Flaherty is my cousin, and he got the game winning hit. I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors had heard us all screaming we were so happy!

I love that. I always like to root for the "quiet" ones when I'm watching intense Yankee series - case in point, Aaron Boone last October. My mom and my sister get loud for the superstars, but I've got a thing for the "underdogs".

I picked Flaherty last year cause they called him Flash. And I love it when the guys have nicknames. It just makes it that much more fun to say.

And, I have to tell ya, I get super excited when Tom "Flash" Gordon is pitching with Flaherty catching....

...I like to run around the house yelling "FLASH BATTERY, It's a FLASH BATTERY!!"

As a Yankee fan..I did respect the game played by the Red Sox....its typical of the Boston Curse..the Red Sox played well..they played hard...they played smart...they played with all they had.....but the Red Sox just can't win in the end..and thats just the way it is!!!!..be proud Boston .... your tean did its absolute best last night but unfortunatley its just never enough to win.......why not just focus on the hockey team up there??..you have a much better chance...

I think if Boston ever actually won a pennant, the entire city would fold in on itself and collapse...with 'THE CURSE' broken, what would they do with themselves?

not only is he my cousin, but he was the alter boy at my parents wedding!

our entire family is going to a game at the end of july for flaherty fan club day. we really have a good time because everyone is pretty much local, so the whole family is there.
