How big of difference one week to next?

We're currently booked for next year for Saturday-Monday beginning weekend of Memorial Day and leaving the Monday following. We're considering moving it to the next week. How big of a difference in crowds would you expect? It's hard to tell based on this year's crowd calendar. For one, Memorial Day next year is 5/30 which is essentially a week later than it was this year. This puts most of our trip into June as opposed to May.

So, 5/28/16-6/6/16
vs
6/3/16-6/13/16

Obviously, this is pretty much all speculation, but I'm wondering if we'd even notice a marked difference.

I think the Memorial week might be better other than the holiday weekend. I'm thinking there still may be some schools in session and therefore less families going to Disney that week. Also, graduation ceremonies and such may keep the crowds down more, too at Disney that week.

Once you hit mid June I think everyone is out of school and graduation ceremonies are all done; so, everyone is thinking vacation.

Pick whichever works better with your schedule. It will be very busy both weeks, although slightly less busy than peak summer.

Josh's calendar showed 9's for both weekends and 8's during both weeks this year.

Last year I took a trip that started the Tuesday after memorial day. It honestly wasn't too busy at all, compared to other times. The following week might be even more busy, because a lot of kids get out of school during the first week of June-- I know almost everyone in Florida gets off then. That means there will be a lot of locals, in addition to the families vacationing. Don't know if it's an option, but this year I went during the first week of May and it was sooooo slow! It was awesome. Would definitely recommend that time, if it's convenient for you :)

Last year we went the week before Memorial day weekend - our last day there being the Saturday of that weekend. Granted Memorial day was earlier last year but that week really wasn't that bad. We did see an increase in people the closer we got to Memorial day weekend but it was all totally doable and didn't change our trip at all. I think the year we went early December was busier than what that was.

We went May 30-June 6th this year (the week after Memorial Day) and crowds were not bad at all. I think they are slightly higher on the weekend leading up to Memorial Day and Memorial Day itself, but lessen after that since a lot schools are not out yet. We went the week of Memorial Day a few years ago and found the crowds to be a little higher then.

If the OP was offering the week before Memorial Day as an option, I'd say that would make a difference. But essentially they are asking about the week starting with Memorial Day weekend, and the following week. I think given those choices it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

Any week earlier you can get into May makes a difference.

Most of the time holidays would be super busy. However I don't view Memorial Day being such a case. It will be busier than normal both weeks as the prevailing factor will be kids out of school vs. Memorial Day.

So, basically it doesn't matter. That is kind of what it looks like for us.

We originally chose the week of Memorial Day because that is the week school ends. however there is no school Monday and Tuesday/Wednesday are half days. So, we're thinking we'll just let the kids miss those two half days. Otherwise we stay home that week and my husband or myself has to take off Monday, half days Tuesday and Wednesday + all day Thursday/Friday unless we chose to travel mid week.

Our last trip was early to mid May. I wish we could travel earlier but hate to pull them from school for a whole week!

I don't think it will. Summer months will always be busy. Now if this were a holiday in the off season (say President's Day, MLK Day and especially Christmas or Thanksgiving and New Years, one week is a huge deal. Third week of December you should be able to go on everything with little to moderate wait time, one week later they are closing the park due to capacity being reached.

We did June 3-13 this year. We did not find it bad at all except Saturday, June 6 and it was SW at HS. We really lucked out with weather, only had to use our ponchos once.

You've still got SWW after Memorial Day and Gay Days as well, so there's really no difference in crowd levels between either week imo.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We just changed our dates to the next week - 6/2/15 - 6/12/15 :dogdance:
