We are having both ham and turkey just like at Thanksgiving.
The bird will be about 20lbs. for 6 people we love leftover turkey.

A ham for Christmas Day here too, but it's to accompany the fritata that DH makes on Christmas morning.

We are having Roast Chicken since we are kind of Turkey'd out. My bird is 6 lbs.

We have a 15 lb turkey and a 5 lb ham for 8 people and hopefully plenty of leftovers as DH has to work on Boxing Day and I'll be pooped out from all that cooking,cleaning wrapping etc. etc. and I plan on "nuking" my leftovers for Boxing Day.

The one I bought is only about 12 pounds. Since it's just the four of us, that will do just fine.

DW's Dad is bringing a 28 lb. ham! We expect to have 6 people to feed. He knows I like ham and leftovers!

It's a tradition in my family (not hers) to have raisin gravy and to mash the carrots in with the potatoes (lumpy, not whipped) when we have ham. So... to satisfy both families we'll have ham, potatoes, green beans, carrots, potatoes and carrots, raisin gravy, ham gravy, plenty of dinner rolls and the side dishes.

Mine's average size. But when I flipped it to the guy who cut me off this morning, it got his attention just fine. The size of your bird doesn't matter, as long as you know how to use it.

I'm half Italian, so no ham or turkey for us!!! I'm making a big pot of gravy with meatballs, sausage, chicken, pork, beef, and brasciola (stuffed flank steak...yum). I'm also making home-made gnocchi (ricotta, not potato). There will be 9 adults and 5 kids. Homemade cookies and cannolis for dessert.

Also, turkey for us on Thanksgiving - 17 lbs and no larger. My turkey pan (from my Nana) only holds a 17 lb bird - I learned the hard way!!!

We had a 22# turkey on Thanksgiving for 14 people and we had leftovers. We do lasagna for Christmas.
