How big are the tumblers/cups to bring?

I see that many people bring their own cups for drinks on board and I'm wondering how big of one should I get. I see on etsy all of them are 16 Oz but they seem very small.

To each their own. I would say they were definitely great for us. The cups they provide are very small and not sturdy. (though you should use them to fill yours)

Two things I would say that are even more important than size. Make sure they don't leak, and good insulation is a plus. I had a 32 oz one over by the Serenity Falls (on the Fantasy) and I could sit there and read, relax etc. for quite a while without needing to refill it and without it getting warm.

We purchased Tervis Tumblers for our cruise 2 years ago and continue to use them on a daily basis at home. The cups on the ships are not very sturdy and I often saw them being tipped over by the wind. We purchased the 16oz ones and they were great for our family and not too large to carry around. That being said I now have a larger one that was given to me and I can see bringing that with me on our next cruise.

We have a 52oz Bubba Keg (insulated mug) that we've taken on two Carnival cruises. Fill that sucker with ice and bev (like half tea/half punch) and just sit out by the pool all day. Bliss.

We take tervis cups (24 oz) for the adults and the kids usually take a smaller one (12oz or so). I will tell you that when we were on the Dream in August, they were asking people not to fill personal cups at the machine. A CM actually said something to my husband. They were very nice about it, but were very concerned about people filling cups they were drinking from and getting germs on the machines. We use tops so ours should have been fine. They just asked that you fill up one of the paper cups and dump into your own cup. Just something to know when you go.

ive been taking my tervis water bottle since traveling on princess fall of 2014 3 cruises so far on 3 different lines (Disney was one of them) can't go wrong

I bring a Tervis tumbler, great for hot or cold drinks. Bed Bath and Beyond has tons (get the Tervis brand) and they have the larger sizes (at least last time I checked). I use 16 oz but I believe they had like 24 oz or something. They sell 16 oz on board but I don't think the larger sizes of the Tervis.

Good to know. I want some for summer pool parties! I leave Friday so hopefully I can get the larger size.

We took 32oz ones, but also bought 2 6-packs of water for the room for those times we just didn't feel like making the track up to fill them. Worked out perfectly.

I remember overhearing one woman on the pool deck complaining about people bringing the big ones, but that was because she was involved in an accident with one. Apparently some woman filled her 32oz Tervis then it slipped out of her hand and landed on the woman's foot. She said she thinks it broke her little toe.

Agreed. Fill it up in the morning and it stays cold all day. Love the Bubba.

They also sell the removable handles for both sizes.

Thank you! They do the same at the Chase lounge in Epcot, I was wondering if they did this on the cruises!
