Are the pull out beds comfortable to sleep on for an adult and child for 9 nights? My daughter is 8 now, but in 10 yrs?

I don't know about comfort because I never slept on one but I know the size...

The living room of the 1 & 2 bedroom villas has a Queen sleeper sofa.
The studios and 2nd bedroom of the lock-off 2 bedroom has a full/double sleeper sofa.
The only other sleeper is in the 2nd bedroom of the dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV which 2/3 of them have a queen sleeper sofa (the other 1/3 have a queen bed).

I have heard the newer type sleeper sofas that they are using for replacements are much more comfortable. They are orignal issue at SSR and are being replaced at OKW, BWV, BCV? Not sure of the status of this replacement. Anyone?

The sleepers in studios are double-size. They are considerably smaller than a queen. As for comfort - the SSR pull-out is lovely - like a huge tempur-pedic mattress with no noticable bar-in-the-back. DH preferred it to the queen bed.

As far as comfort for an adult and a child - that's a personal question. I grew up sharing Holiday-inn type hotel rooms with my parents (and a bed with mom) and it never ocurred to me to question it. DH and I sleep, by choice, in a Queen rather than a King. I certianly think it is possible to put a family of four in a studio or in a single resort room while on vacation.

One nice thing about DVC is that you'll have a choice of how to spend your points. You can have more nights in a smaller unit, or less nights in a large one. We've got elementary-age kids and they want to go to Disney all the time, so we stay in studios and go every break we can. I would not be suprised if, once they are teenagers, they get their own lives/schedules and decide that one week at Disney each year is enough. If/when that happens, we'll simply use the points to book a 1 or 2 bedroom.

The new ones are wonderful. No bar in the back and they pull out with a solid platform for the mattress to rest on.

My oldest DD has been sleeping on the sleeper sofas since we bought DVC at OKW in 1993. She said the older sleeper sofas were OK, but the new ones are better than her bed.
We had new style ones the last 2 years at OKW.

Our DD ( young adult) slept on the pull out couch this December in a Grand Villa at BWV. It was the newer type - like we had never seen before. She proclaimed it as comfortable as a good bed. No bar, good mattress.

They must be good - she has refused to sleep on the pull out beds at OKW as well as the older BWV pull-outs. She would sleep on the unopened couch rather than the pull-out.

No sofa bed will ever be as comfortable as a regular bed which is why we get a 2 bedroom for 3 people. That said, the new ones are the best on the market and a huge improvement over the old ones.

Everyone's tolerance of sleeping on them will be different and mine personally is, if I have to sleep on a sofa bed on vacation I would rather stay home. :lmao:
