How bicycle friendly is the World?

We were wondering if it would ever make sense to bring our bikes when we stay on property? The streets look oh-so hectic, it doesn't seem like the World is too bicycle friendly? Anyone have any opinions?

Don't bring them, bikes are not allowed on resort roadways. Disney Security will stop you if you try. Some resorts have trails you can ride them on, however they also rent bikes if you need one. I say save some room in the car and leave tham at home.

At OKW you should be fine I wouldn't try and ride anywhere near the parks, but around OKW and maybe DTD/PI it would be fun. Call your resort and check OKW offers Bike Rentals so I'm sure they have bike trails or paths.

Now having posted the above I would just rent the bikes, would hate to have to transport them all the way down to WDW. :p

I wouldn't ride my bicycle around DTD/PI except very early in the AM or after it all closes down. It's just too crowded around there to ride a bicycle. We've ridden a surrey bike around OKW, but we used the roadways there and occasionally a sidewalk. But we had to watch out for the walkers.
