How best to use SWA ticketless funds questions

This is very long, and I'm sorry about that, but I'm sort of confused and would appreciate guidance from experienced SWA travelers.

Ok, so we saved $280 in fare drops which I had in funds under one confirmation number.

I want to use them for a different trip, and booked my ticket yesterday, using almost all the $$.

Now as I understand it, I have money in "2" pots. The $20 left over from the first ticket under the first confirmation number, and the $260 "value" of the new ticket under the new confirmation number.

Stupidly rushing in without thinking, I forgot to book the new ticket as separate one way tickets, to make taking advantage of DINGS more easy. No problem, right. I can call SWA and have them split the ticket into two trips. At least that's what they told me on the phone this morning.

This will then gives me the funds now in "3" pots, right? $20 in the orig, and about $130 in a second and $130 in a third, right?

What I'm hoping is that this fare I booked will drop enough for me to bring along one or two other passengers for basically the same price.

What I'm getting confused about is the fact that it seems like the number of "pots" of ticketless funds seems to keep increasing. You're only allowed to use funds from up to four sources to pay for a ticket, right?

So say my $119 outbound flight drops to say $59--how do I take my one ticket and make it into two? Can that be done with a simple on-line "change", such as what I did when my original fare to wdw dropped, or since I'm adding a passenger, do I have to cancel and rebook.

Will it stay under the same one confirmation number, or will it split into two because there are two people, effectively giving me now "4 pots" of funds to track?

If one cancels a ticket paid for with leftover ticketless travel funds, do the funds from that ticket go back under the original confirmation number, or do they stay under the second confirmation number?

And if the inbound flight drops, too, will that split and then I'll have "5 pots" of funds?

I'm so grateful that SWA is basically giving me this "free" trip--and I appreciate any help any of you experienced SWA travelers can give me in understanding the best way to proceed.

Would I have been smarter not to have rushed in buying the higher priced ticket, keeping the funds in "1" pot?

Thanks!
