How best to upgrade

We are going Sept 16 - 26. We are getting a 10 day hopper pass and have a GAD. We will be upgrading to an Annual Pass. Which is the best use of a ticket to upgrade.

1. Use the GAD to upgrade to an annual pass.
2 Use the 10 day hopper pass to upgrade to an annual pass and use the GAD to get Fastpasses

When you use the GAD to get fast passes is it for 1 day only or for everyday that you are there?

option 2. The GAD FP are worth thier weight in gold IMO. We loved them. The GAD FP card is good only for the day that you redeem them, remember only one person in your party needs to redeem theirs to get the exchange card good for 6 people. see GAD FP info from Disser doconeill here

I'm not even sure option 1 will work for you at this point. If you already have the 10 day tickets then you need to upgrade those to AP's. You can't use those and GAD tickets both as credit to upgrade.

Also have you considered getting the AP's now and seeing if you can get a room discount for when you are going? May save you alot of $$$.

"best use" is subjective.

Do you want to save the most money? Upgrade the GAD to the ticket you need. Keep any other tickets you already have for a future trip (or if you currently have them as part of a package, get them taken off or reduced (if you are getting free dining, then you need to have at least a two-day base-ticket on the package). You can always upgrade that ticket on a future trip to what you need then. The savings on the GAD tickets upgraded to any other ticket (currently $79 for an adult) far outweigh any savings I've ever seen from a ticket discounter.

As PIRATEGIRL007 says, if there is more than one of you with a GAD voucher, you can redeem them on different days and everyone in your group gets a FP Exchange Card. That increases their "worth". But you are probably going at a slow time so it might not matter as much.

If you've got more than one GAD voucher, you can also split it up - use some for tickets, and others for FPXCs. You don't save as much but you get both advantages. We're doing that - we have three GAD vouchers among us. Two are being used for tickets, and the third will be for FPXC for our group of 6.

thanks for all the info. I will see if we can save the 10 day tickets for a latter date. Then upgrade to an AP. I don't know if we will be able to do this since we have paid in full for our upcoming trip.
