How bad will it be?

Next Friday, the 12th. How busy will it be? I am an AP holder but haven't ever really gone during the summer. My girlfriend and I are surprising her kids that morning and taking them as a "you're done with school" treat.

Also, which DTD restaurant would be the best for dinner? 7 and 10 year old and two adults who will need a cocktail. I've been on AllEars looking at menus for all meals and Rainforest is looking pretty good. Any other tips? I generally don't eat much when I've gone in the past and I go to Slater's 50/50 or somewhere away from the parks for food so I'm not well versed.

Also, I'm bored at work and wanting to chat Disney. One more week!

Agree that Rainforest Cafe is probably a good choice since you've got kiddos with you. Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel could also be fun and they allow children in the bar until I believe 8pm! Guess it all depends on how long you plan to stay in the park, etc.

Have a great time! :)

I can't help with how busy, but just wanted to say what a wonderful treat!

I showed DD (7) some menus and pictures and the only place she really wants to eat is at Rainforest Cafe so you may be spot on with that choice

Have a great time!!

Thanks! His will be my first time taking kids to DL. I'm looking forward to it and all the meltdowns lol. I'm kind of stoked for rainforest and hope that is where we end up.

Rainforest would be great, but make a reservation! On a busy Friday night you could wait over 2 hours!! My 9 year old niece loves it!

I'm going to be there on the 13th and I am expecting it to be very busy!

We ate at Rainforest on our last trip and the kids loved it ( 8,10, 11 and 13 ).

Us adults not so much lol. I just found the combination of lightning and thunder and animals noises too much to deal with after a long day at the parks.

We made the massive mistake of not having a reservation though and just doing walk up, so I was pretty cranky after a huge line up as well.

I'm hoping to go again on our next trip and will do it maybe for lunch when I'm not so tired.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

Currently through July 31.

For whatever reason, you can only make breakfast or lunch through the Disney dining website. Not sure if they do their own reservations for dinner or what.

Great thanks! I'm hoping the crowds aren't too bad. Last time I went it was a Saturday in March and touring plans said it was a 10. It really wasn't awful.

I'm not seeing on their website where to make reservations. Is it better to just call? I'd prefer to have an email confirmation or something.

You have to call RFC directly to make a dinner reservation!

And this will be much different than March! The 60th celebration just started and it is summer time. You should plan on it being very busy on a Friday. It will get busier as the day goes on as well, as locals will come to watch the parade and fireworks!!

It will be very busy but still fun. Just plan accordingly - maybe make an agenda so time isn't wasted deciding what to do. It would be fun to ride on the monorail to or from RFC since it's right next door. Just remember it closes from 8:30-10:00 (or is it 10:30) for fireworks. Definitely make a reservation!
