How Bad Is The WL Bus Transportation?

I've read other posts stating that WL is now sharing buses with Fort Wilderness.

How many stops are there at Fort Wilderness? Is the bus transportation really as bad as people are saying?

My DW and I were at WL in May. We thought the bus transportation was GREAT!

Most buses make 1 stop at FW before heading to the parks. For us this was no big deal. We are not anxious to be the first people in the park.

We felt the buses came by fairly quickly. We spent less than 5 mins. waiting at WL for any bus.

The boat to MK was wonderful, too. You have to time that right, but we never had a problem with that either.

Thanks!! I was really hoping that weren't as bad as people were saying . . .We will be staying at WL November 30 - December 7 and we were really looking forward to seeing this beautiful resort with all the decorations for the holidays.

Not to be negative, but a single stop at FW from WL will add at least 15 minutes to the ride if not more depending on how long they wait at FW - we waited once for 5 minutes. I really think that Disney needs to rethink this decision regarding the buses, it was easier and much quicker to drive to the parks rather than depend on the bus system.

it's mostly a myth!!

We did WL. In eight days there, we waited more than five miutes once. (And I timed the waits because I read so many posts complaining about the transportation. Now the launch is slow but it's a boat for goodness sake!!)

The transportation was fine. The launch takes you to WDW. There is a bus to every other park. The WL bus stops at the Poly and the GF on the way to the park. On the way back the WL is the first stop.

The bus loop to Fort W. goes two different ways, called Boone or Crockett: One goes to the T&TC first then a lopp in Ft.W and one goes to Ft.W first and then a loop thru and on to the T&TC. Your WL staff can help you figure that one out.

Oh, here's a tidbit. We found out that the WL bus to EPCOT does a "figure eight" from EPCOT to the AKL. What do I mean? I mean that if you get on the EPCOT bus at WL and stay on at the EPCOT park, you will go to AKL first, then back to EPCOT. (Of course, of course, you should ask the driver before you attempt this.) The other park busses just do circles.

How did we find this out, you ask? Well we got on the bus to do dinner at EPCOT, got caught in a monsoon, didn't get off at EPCOT and: VOILA! we were delivered to AKL, where we did dinner at Boma instead.

When we went in May, the new routes were from WL then to FW then to all of the parks, FW is a lot more out of the way than the old route and while yes, it only took a couple of minutes for the bus to arrive, it took us over 40 minutes to get to Animal Kingdom one morning. The bus left and went to FW, waited for five minutes, left passed back by the WL gate a full 15 minutes later, stopped at blizzard beach and then on to AK. When we went back later that night, we boarded the only bus on line for WL and promptly waited 15 minutes for the bus to leave even though no one had gotten on for the last ten minutes. We traveled from there to FW to drop off and then finally back to WL. Like I said before, I don't want to sound negative, but you can drive to AK in under 15 minutes. I agree about the boat however, but it at times did the same thing. If it stopped at FW first,it was pretty full when it got to WL, if it stopped at WL first you had to endure the extra ride over to FW then to MK. We thought we would be smart one morning and take the launch over to the contemporary and then take monorail from there. We forgot that the monorail runs the opposite way and would have been quicker to just walk over from the Contemporary.

When I talked to a CM about the new routes, I was told that the were testing them out and they had gotten a lot of complaints about them and that he didtn't expect them to last long.

Does anyone know the hours that the launch to the Contemporary runs?
