How bad is the weather in early September?

I'm braced for the worst! Well, hurricanes aside, how bad really is the weather in early Sept.? When we went in May, we got hit with a heatwave and it was in the mid 90's each day and we survived. I just wonder about rainfall, humidity, etc. Crowds and rates would be great, but is it worth it to you September vets?

Thanks!

We went mid September back in 2002. Warm and humid, not hot, because. . . it rained so dang much. Fantasmic was cancelled at least one night when we were there, and we were there waiting in the rain, they did cancel it until about 5 minutes before it was due to begin. We went the next night and had a wonderful time, met the greatest people from New York.

On the bright side, we got to stay an extra day because a minor hurricane
went in not far from where we live and we could not get home. I had an annual pass anyway so I was good to go.

Hot!

HUMID!

only difference being that the rain isnt exactly on a daily basis anymore!

One major concern is it is Hurricane Season and pretty much the heavy part of it.

We were there this year for the first time. It's not my first choice but it was a last minute trip so I was just thankful to be there.

I knew it would be hot and humid. Like you, I just tried to brace myself for it. It was pretty intense at times. It bothered me the most at Universal. My children even complained about the heat. Before we even got to the turnstiles, I was soaked with sweat. I'm not kidding.

Now, I am always hot, even living in the north, so discount my opinion a little bit from the average person. But my kids were glad that it was a "hang out at the pool mostly" kind of vacation. We only did Universal one day and MK one day.

I won't go back again at that time of year unless it's the only time I can get. We homeschool, so thankfully we can pick almost anytime of year to go.

Next trip is this Nov/Dec. After that, Apr/May 2006 and Oct/Nov 2006. Those months are still pretty hot to us, but will be much more enjoyable.

But like I said, if it's the only time you can get.......take it. After all, it's Disney! :)

We went in mid-September 2003. It was a great time to go. It was hot, but that just made the pool that much more enjoyable. The crowds were low; many things were walk-on and we didn't have PS for anything and never had to wait. I can't remember it raining at all while we were there (five days).

First time I took DS it was 9/5 - 9/10, 2001. I remember being on Tom Sawyer Island and feeling like I was going to PASS OUT because it was so humid. I should be used to it--I'm from the Midwest and we ALWAYS have humidity in the summer. But I guess hauling around the backpack and trying to keep up with a (then) 5 year old added to the discomfort. The positives were that there was hardly any crowd, we walked on rides, had no PS--but no waits either. I would go again at that time of year. We went in January last time and didn't really like the fact that it got as cold as it was at home!!!! I didn't like wearing sweatshirts, mittens, and ear muffs in Florida!!! :rotfl:

I am from Florida, and like a few others have the advantage of being use to Florida's heat and humidity (if there is such a thing of being use to it).

I am hoping for the lesser crowds on this trip. Will then weigh the difference of heavier crowds or hotter weather.

We are going last week of Sept.
