How bad is President's Day Week?

We're thinking of heading to the World the week of Feb 20th - with President's day on the 21st? What is that week like? I see the hours are longer that week so I'm kind of nervous. Should I be?

I think the hours are a good (bad?) sign of what to expect. Particularly because these are the "first guess" at hours. 9-10 each and every day that week at MK suggests there will be lots of heads in beds and feet on streets.

but, that's the week I'm going ('cause that's the week my kids have off). I'd recommend getting a copy of the Unofficial guide, and signing up for TourGuideMike; the latter will be particularly useful if the rumored EMH changes come through by then, as Mike updates his site regularly. He can give you the lowdown on the new "best days" for each park with the new EMHs.

We were there during President's week of 2002. It was not that bad, especially Wednesday and beyond (of course this was just a few months after 9/11, though). Massachusetts has that week off from school, and there were a lot of us there.

I went President's Day Week in 2004 for 4 days and it wasn't too busy. I've been during the Christmas/ New Years time, so that's what I call busy!! But just as long as you use the Fastpass system and get PS's for the restaurants you really want to go to, I think you'll be fine!

We will be there for Presidents week too. I have been worried about the crowds but I'm hopeful it will managable. I've been during Christmas and New Years several times so I am familar with crowds!

We are there every year for presidents week. Each year since 2002 it has been getting more and more crowded. The weekend and Monday are very crowded ther rest of the week is not so bad. Last year there were no late hours at all after Monday. MK closed at 7:00. I will be there again this year. Hopefully it will not be so crowded. Disney still offered pretty decent rates (value for 79) so they do not seem to be at capacity room wise.

However I just checked and MK is open till 10:00 From Tues on so mabye the crowds will be more this year.

My family will be arriving Friday the 26th of February. We were going to go the weekend before but moved it to AVOID any President's Day crowds.

Do you think most of the crowds will be gone by then?

According to the Unofficial Guide, the Pres' Day crowds are from Friday, Feb. 18th thru Monday, Feb. 21st. Before and after that the crowds are LOW. We planned our trip so that we'd be outta there before the crowds hit!

Another thread mentioned that Daytona Race Week is also the same week so add those people into the mix. It was the same way when we went in 2000. it was pretty crowded. We are headed down on the 17th and will be in WDW until the 27th when we board the Wonder so I plan on utilizing Fast Pass to the best of it's ability. Just get to the park early. Hit the e-rides. Fast Pass like crazy. We can't wait!

What effect does Mardi Gras have on the crowds? We are going to be at WDW Feb3-14. I thought I had done a great job avoiding Pres. Week and Daytona Race then found out about MG. Anyone have experience with crowds at that time?

So how does this President's week look in terms of crowds? Is the Daytona race at the same time this year as Pres week 2006?

Biggest problem for us was just getting a flight. We go in the summer for now.
