How bad is Labor Day Week

We are thinking about changing our trip in Sept. 04 to Labor Day week and I was wondering how bad the crowds were and how hard VWL would be at the 7 mos. window.

We have never been to WDW on any holiday or holiday week so we are somewhat concerned. We have small children so bad crowds would be a downer.

Thanks,

Kayla

1) Actually, not all that bad.
2) A lot of locals, but not that many vacationers.
3) School has started in many regions.

We have done a week around Labor Day twice. The crowds on the weekend itself were bad mostly at the MK, but in general the crowds were low, and during the week was wonderful.

Rooms at all WDW resorts have typically been available the week of Labor Day. Since school has started for most areas, families don't seem to use that weekend for trips to WDW as much as Christmas, Spring Break, Juy 4 and Thanksgiving holiday periods.

While most Saturdays- year round- are fairly busy, the rest of the Labor weekend enjoys tolerable crowds.

Resort occupancy levels have usually been aorund 80-85% at DVC resorts and much lower (50-70%) at other WDW resorts according to comments by resort CM's over the years.

You should have a good chance of finding availability at 7 months and find the parks are all accessible with low crowds.

Enjoy!

My experiences have been excatly, 100% the same as Doc and Diane in regards to trips to WDW over Labor Day!
It's a small world after all.........:jester:

we booked last June for Labor Day weekend. No problem. We had a great time, but we did it as a no park vacation. We styaed at the BCV and spent the days around the pool. The only problems we had were the temp, 100+, and the love bugs were gross. We would go again for a short tripthat time of year

Saturday and Sunday will be the busiest days at the parks, but the people seem to disappear on Monday as they all head home (must be Disney magic! ;) )

Sorry I cannot give much advise as to the reservations. However, our usual time to go the WDW is the end of August. We went down one year over the labor day weekend. I will never do it again. MK was a mad house (more than the weekend before). I actually found it unenjoyable. I cannot remember the how the other parks were.
