How bad is Jersey week?

Plus one for Taylor Ham. We were there in 2007 as well and it was FREEZING!! Hasn't scared us off from going again this year though, same time. Just plan to hit Epcot Thursday and Friday, not over the weekend. I know LOL is overused, but I literally did at that trash can scenario. Hysterical, and sadly, so true!!

There's a bit of an uptick in crowds, but the overall effect isn't that much. The end of that week has some more people, since the NJEA Convention is generally Thursday and Friday.

A note to those in the NJ/PA area that are planning a Jersey week: where there is a big effect is not at the parks or rooms, but getting airfare can get expensive. When you have your dates set, book your flights...in this case, waiting for a lower fare isn't a good idea

Thanks, we have two scenarios planned. 10/30-11/6 or 11/14-11/21
I'm not sure which crowd calendar to use. My first visit has 10/31 ranked at 15 with crowd level 5 and 11/14 ranked #4 with crowd level 3, yet Dad's guide to WDW has Jersey Week being less crowded. Crowds are my issue. I want the less crowded week. I know there is no way to predict but has anyone subscribed to Touring Plans. I hate paying that money but may be worth it.

I would say both weeks should be about the same with the exception of a couple of dates:

11/6 eve of F&W half marathon and 1st osbourne lights
11/7 F&W Half marathon along with all other runDinsney events. EPCOT will be packed
11/8 the first MVMCP of the season

11/11 Veterans Day

11/14-11/16 is the last weekend of F&W festival

Touring plans lists the following

10/31 is a 4

11/14 is a 3

Touring plans also does not factor in F&W crowds

We were there during Jersey Week last year and it wasn't too bad. We usually go the first week of Oct and it was very comparable crowd wise.

Hmmm, thanks!

I wonder why the 'your first visit' site has 10/31 ranked at week 15 to visit. Seems strange to me.
When all the weeks surrounding it are single digits

Its bad enough I have to try a new resort, but missing MNSSHP is tough, not sure which week to go.
I see if we go 11/14 I'll have a few days left of F&W which is nice.

We went during Jersey Week one year. It was definitely more crowded than the crowd calendars predicted. It was fine though.

It is not an event that packs the house too terrible. There is a slight increase but nothing like summer or holiday time. People from Jersey (and Boston) seem to like to tell you how they do things where they are from. A lot. If you don't mine hearing "that's how we do it in Jersey!" over and over again, it isn't a problem. Or am I being unfair?

I have never heard anyone say that in New Jersey LOL

I actually say I'm from SOUTH Jersey... don't want anyone to think I'm from the North (and by North I mean anything above Trenton).

South Jersey has some stereotypes too but I won't go into them ;)

I never have, either.
I've lived here in south Jersey for over 30 years and I've never heard that expression either.

We always go that week because my boyfriend gets Veterans Day off as a paid holiday. We don't feel the folks from Jersey make much of an impact crowdwise. This year we'll be there from 11/7-11/15. Doing F&W on Tue 11/10 and Thu 11/12.

Honestly, I feel Disney is getting crowded year round. My brother and his family went in September and I was very surprised at the wait times at parks. I think this has to do with the free dining offerings but could be wrong.

THIS!! YES!! YES!!

I have been going 3-5x/year for 10 years and there is NO *LOW* crowd season as we once knew it.

This is soooooo true. What used to be considered "busy" is now considered slow.
